Played high school football with him.

 

He actually wasn't that great in high school. Definitely a solid player but it wasn't like he was obviously destined for the NFL. We had a defensive lineman that would have been a good NFL player but he focked up his ankle really bad and then pretty much quit football.

 

There were others on our team that were probably better than him. He was the type of guy who never gave up though which has obviously payed off.

 

How does a guy who wasn't great in high school get onto two top teams in the NFL with the Saints and the Pats, and some guys spend their entire career bouncing from one horrible franchise to another?

 

Like many other professions - hard work and some luck.
