I fished for makos for years in the same area. The first time I went, we hooked one around that size in about 5 minutes. My friend that owned the boat was a body builder and known for being extremely strong. The fish muscled him around the back of the boat like he was a child. At one point it jumped. It was huge. We had it on for about 45 minutes and it broke a swivel.

 

We landed some impressive fish, but nothing like that.
