rule discussion

Dehaven - I will have no problem doing league safe. I voted otherwise and you seem baffled.

A league Safe Question in general to all - do all of us have access to pulling out say @200 at any given time? Is there a password? Which MFFL member(s) have access to the account? How does league safe know how to split up the winnings at the end of the year?

I'm just curious b/c I've never used it.

moz took it upon himself to just say 'send your dues to joc for this yr'.

plus, it hasn't been put up for vote. the keeper rules have been put up for vote. inconveniently enough, not the leaguesafe option. comprende mi amigo?

to answer your leaguesafe question, the commish sets up the payout option, usually a majority vote to approve payouts post season.

Leaguesafe is fine and easy.

What we need is to hash out these keeper rules. Soinds like franchise and transitional is set. And transitional can be any player....

Are we set on franchise player being mandatory? Can we vote on that? It shouldnt have impacted the way anyone drafted.

First,

If Joc, Megla, or WW would like to be commish please let me know and the gig is all yours -- I named you 3 as I think you 3 have a level head and would do a good job - wasn't being sarcastic. seriously the gig is yours if you want it. I tried to pass it on to Joc but he wisely turned it down...

I haven't been on here lately becasue I have too much sh!t going on in my life to deal with the b!tching - not that thats a bad thing it's a league and you all have that right I just got tired of it at least for a while as like I said I have had alot of things going on.

again Megla you want the gig -- let me know.

Since Delay decided to make it known about payments this year - yes I was in financial hell with an lengthy IRS audit and a private lawsuit anything I had was under a microscope no matter how big or small. I did keep everyone in the loop - noone had to search me out I went to them and explained then a few months late I made good. in almost 10 years this is the first time it has happened - I was and am sorry for it. Not exusing this - but damn - do you have any idea the pain in the ass it is when I have to emal owners 3-5 months to get them to pay their fee's .....

When I do make a mistake in this league I always try to make up for it and even go overboard trying to do so.

again Joc ya want this gig please speak up...

* I was going to do league safe I have since thought better of it -- it's the same as always but mail the checks to Joc instead of me. Joc is the most trustworthy person in this league.

* Head to head is the 1st tie breaker as it is in every league I have ever been in. head to head is the first tie breaker in the NFL and so it is here.

* Keeper situation - I will make a post that you can make a simple vote - keep the new or go back to the old.

Again WW you want this gig? let a botha know

Thnaks Chad for giving me a heads up and asking to me try keep an keep a level head as I am not sure how I would have responded otherwise.

We need to get things sured up and final - all on the same page - then I can recruit another owner from the geek bored, and we can get started on the fun stuff we all want to.

again -- hell if anyone other than delay wants this gig let me know (sorry Dave you're a little too combative for this lot in a commish role and I am all but certain that would make us lose Megla) . Then again youre maybe the only one that might do it :( oh the irony

Lets all get on the same page and I WILL be checking in here now at least once a day to get things going............

Shane ( Moz)

WW Joc and all,

this is why I keep bringing leaguesafe up as if we dont have a dconsensus and conclusion.

Are we just ignoring Moz's thoughts above?

if so, fine. joc can set our league up in leaguesafe and we're good.

People have also expressed some reservations about leaguesafe, which is why i suggested it be put up for vote, just like the keeper rules voting that's ongoing.

I think the only reservation was mine regarding fees but they are nominal anyway. Im fine with whatever everyone wants. Its obviously the safest option

As it stands now there is 12 players as primary keepers, then Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3. That's 48 players. Then players 49-60 represent the most value with a 2nd keeper (depending on where the 2nd keeper was drafted last year and their value at draft time. So, if we went to an optional keeper in the 1st Round, then if you keep a primary keeper, you then have only Round 2 and Round 3, before Round 4 which in your idea would still be the lowest round a 2nd keeper could be kept in.

I would be OK with making the primary keeper optional, but not with making both the primary keeper optional and having 4th round as the lowest round for a 2nd keeper.

I would be OK with making the primary keeper optional, if the 2nd keeper can be kept for the cost of a 5th round pick (if the player was drafted 5th round or later last year of course).

I'm saying this because, as the rule stands now where a primary keeper is required, and then Round 1 starts. Round 1 is essentially like a Round 2. Round 2 like a Round 3. So really if we made the primary keeper optional for a first round pick, then making the lowest round a 2nd keeper can be kept as 5th Round (instead of 4th Round as is currently) is only calling it 5th Round, and not actually changing where the 2nd keepers would be kept compared to the number of players drafted between 1st keeper and 2nd keeper. Hope that all makes sense.

AHHH ok i just reread this and I now understand where our disconnect is. You are viewing the keepers as their own 'keeper' round followed by round 1, 2, 3 etc... I was viewing the Keepers as round 1 in any scenario. Your way is likely the better way to look at it so I completely agree with your proposal here.

As far as the best value being to keep a player in the 49-60 range, I think that is speculative. ADP will determine that. It's quite possible that a player drafted in round 2 or 3 last year might have a 1st round ADP this season and be a good value at the cost of a 2nd or 3rd

remind how the draft order works again?

since we all get a free keeper, do we need to be cryptic with the draft order this yr?

company that takes league fee payments from all league members, adds a % fee if u pay by credit card (3%), likely banks your fee to earn interest but keeps it safe until the end of the season when your commish allocates payouts and sets a % vote needed to pass it. Once that % vote hits, leaguesafe credits the accounts of the winning owners. Owners can then request a check, direct deposit or roll the $ over to next year or another leagues dues.

checks cost a dollar or 2 to be mailed.

Sorry, but no way I trust "leaguesafe". Plenty of large fantasy related websites/businesses have screwed over winners. Who owns leaguesafe? Really, it doesn't matter; I don't trust them.

I have no reason to trust leaguesafe and won't use it. Send your money to Moz, Joc or myself. Let's figure this out. Not paying leaguesafe, sorry. Also, Moz is paying my dues this year, fyi because of the delayed payments. Thanks again Moz!

i respect your opinion, but the alternative is much worse. i take the opposite position, just as strongly, i will never send my dues to anyone one person again. leaguesafe fills a need, that's why it's gained so much traction. This is precisely why this should have been put to a vote already, like ive been saying for the last several days.

sending your money to league safe is just as safe as sending it to a league member you dont know. technically its safer as you probably have more recourse if something happens to your funds. rather than a guy you have no information on, you could probably be helped out by the BBB or something.

i dont really care about league dues at this point, its not a big issue.

i still dont understand why more people are not chiming in on my proposed keeper rules. much more important, imo.

For this year I will be doing the payouts - and yes fock it NEXT year 2015 when things are normal we will be switching to league safe. This is no longer needed to be discussed.
