The Moz 69 Posted June 14, 2014 My team - then Brady RGIII R. Rice Forte Ball A. Ellington A. Jefferey R. White Fitz Hilton C. Patterson G. OLsen A. Gates Rookie pick 1.2 2.2 3.2 I traded All my picks (1.2,2.2,3.2) Patterson,Ellngton,Ball,Hilton,RGIII FOR J. Charles, Peyton Manning and Megatron. The owner of team I am tradign with won it all last year. This gives me Peyton Forte CHarles Rice Megatron Jeffrery White Fitz A line up SCARY as hell good for 1-2 years BUT all are withing 1-2 years of beign out of their prime. Being this is a Dynasty league I obviously over paid and mortgaed my whole future for maybe 2 years on top - was it worth it? Start QB - RB - RB - WR WR WR Flex TE K D Points standard PPR Dynasty roster is 25 players. I gave up Sankey/Watkins , Patterson, Patterson, Ellington, Ball, Hill , RGIII -- ALL GOOD YOUNF PLAYERS. For maybe the top at their slot in Peyton , Charles, and Megatron. I am now kicking myself a bit as I might of gotten too damn hung up on names
WhiteWonder 2,738 Posted June 14, 2014 ok, the way i see it I don't really care about the draft picks. you had enough young talent in Ball, Patterson, Hilton, Ellington that unknown picks don't matter. 1.2 was Sankey or Watkins but after that its a crap shoot with 2.2 and 3.2 2.2 might have got you Devonte Adams, Donte Moncrief, Devonta Freeman (i forget which is te or ta LOL) Charles, Peyton, Megatron are all studs. Giving up all your picks is fine. Where you lost me was giving up your ENTIRE pool of young talent. Ball is young and in a great situation. Patterson could be the next Josh Gordon. Ellington is young RB depth incase Rice flames out. hilton i don't really care for so whatever. HOWEVER.... don't slit your wrists just yet. Lets break it down Charles > Ball in theory but in the denver offense it could actually be really close. Jamal is 27 Megatron > Patterson of course. getting up there in years but WRs last longer. You should have 5 more years of Megatron. Peyton >> RG3 but how many years does peyton have left? 2? but you also gave away ellington, hilton, watkins/sankey i think you will be alright. the danger with building a team stacked with veteran studs but without any depth is a single injury could royally FOCK you. I would be trying to trade Brady ASAP. try to pick up a RB4 and a younger QB2. I also might turn around and trade either Fitz or Roddy for a good WR3 and a draft pick. Target an early 2nd round rookie pick
Frozenbeernuts 2,264 Posted June 15, 2014 I think the trade was a good move. Now see if you can trade manning for a good sum.
Big Blue 06 195 Posted June 15, 2014 Your team is now crazy good, but also crazy old. Megatron, Alshon are young, so you're okay thre. If your goal was to try to win the title in the next 2 years while mortgaging the future (the Yankee strategy), then you've done it about as well as possible. The trade was based on My Thinking Ball isn't nearly as good as he is being hyped if he is then My team was arguably just as good as it is now w/o a trade and I surrendered all the young depth I made a point to draft and trade for last year. Also depends on Peyton giving me 1-2 more years sort of like last year. It came down to this trade gives me by far the best team in the league this year and likely next year and thats what you play for anyway... ETA the owner I just traded with is offering me Patterson and my 1.2 pick back for Jeffery and Brady ? thoughts

I agree with your thoughts on Ball but I like Ellington and the rest of the young players you traded away quite a bit, but considering what you got back it's hard to disagree. I've never played in a dynasty league though. I don't think I would have given up all that young talent though.

Patterson is more of an uknown, huge upside. with 1.2 you can draft watkins or sankey but i think you need something else to make giving jeffery worth it. plus keep in mind your giving him a good QB back. can you get 2.2 back? Will Manziel be there? you need a QB to groom for life after Peyton. or can you get Ellington back?
