There was a rumor that Matthews had an hand issue last week. Just ran across this on Rotoworld:

 

 

 

The Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen reports Jordan Matthews suffered a ligament injury in his hand three weeks ago.

Matthews hesitated when asked about a hand injury following the loss to Carolina on Sunday night before denying he was hurt. Bowen reports the hand injury "supposedly" is no longer an issue, but it could help to explain why Matthews has struggled with drops this season. Matthews had four drops entering Sunday night and dropped two more passes against Carolina.

Not sure of the validity, but could explain a lot. I've been getting killed by the lackluster combo of Matthews and Brandin Cooks. Should not have bought all the hype.
