Artista 460 Posted December 26, 2015 Big Guy- I listened to this on the drive over and back from my friend's house today- so I heard the first 10 tracks. A couple songs had a PF feel to them. The first one was Dark Side of the Moon-ish, no lyrics. The tracks I heard are very mellow/light and not as much serious guitar work in them as one would think. The best tune I heard on it is Rattle That Lock. It is different. His wife wrote the lyrics to this album. If you are a DG fan (like love On An Island) then it's a must have, but if you are more into PF or DG in like Momentary Lapse of Reason then you may not like it. I'm meh about it because it is so mellow. I love Division Bell and Momentary Lapse of Reason the most myself.
Big Guy 1,412 Posted December 26, 2015 Thanks for the review Artista It's on my list though down a bit, and I've seen and heard the "Rattle That Lock" Video......like it. Pink Floyd and David Gilmour no matter what era are going to be quality entertainment. I still don't possess "About Face" & "On an Island" even though they've been on my list for years. I do however have and cherish is solo debut album, solid stuff! As far as Floyd goes I favor "Wish You Were Here" over "Dark Side" "Animals" & "The Wall". I do realize there are many earlier works with Syd Barrett and a few since "The Wall", but I'm not that familiar with those yet. This is why I'll probably always favor Classic Rock, so very much to explore.

fandandy 3,313 Posted December 26, 2015 I just played that album, Rattle That Lock. I couldn't get through it all. Maybe in a different mood I might enjoy more but I didn't care for it. I listened to Floyd a lot when I was a kid. One album I used to love was The Final Cut. https://vimeo.com/67022608
Artista 460 Posted December 27, 2015 Got home after track 10. Don't see myself popping it back in right away to hear the rest. Of course I told bro I love it. I don't like saying I don't like something that was given to me as a gift.. There was a song or two where it really didn't sound like DG singing. Maybe he's getting older. I didn't like the song On An Island so I never explored that one further. Guess my DG love ends in the 90's.
Drizzay 712 Posted December 27, 2015 You need to see Live In Gdansk or Remember That Night. Basically, they are the same format...He'll play the entire On An Island album, then some Pink Floyd songs. He is the absolute best.
