IGotWorms 3,339 Posted September 17, 2019 Christian Bale was a brilliant choice. But the director? Mary Harron? WTF? Never heard of her before or since. David Cronenberg was on board for a bit. So was Oliver Stone. (Apparently Leonardo DiCaprio was going to star at one point instead of Bale. Would’ve been interesting to see what he did with it.) Stone was past his prime by then but Cronenberg would’ve been interesting. Why the hell wasn’t David Fincher director? Seems like an obvious match. Terry Gilliam might’ve been an interesting choice. This was not long after 12 Monkeys. Maybe Brian de Palma? You know...it could’ve been a Coen Brothers movie. Just seems like such a lost opportunity. I’d say they should do a remake but it’d be real hard to top Christian Bale.

MDC 5,912 Posted September 17, 2019 Not really a fan of AP of Christian Bale. I’d love to see a Cronenberg version though.
