Agree.  This is the key problem with the tactic.  The left cannot argue on the merits, they have to paint those who disagree as evil in some way.  And in doing so they fabricate a false moral justification that then allows them to do things that are improper.  They then do things that they continue to pretend their opponents are doing.  This allows them to be as evil as they want in pursuit of power.   It's not ok.
