I enjoy listening to it while at work.

I'm subscribed to this guy on YouTube. I understand he's just trying to get more subscribers, but not every weather event is an outbreak!

Pretty much all youtubers have attention grabbing thumbnails.  Need to get those viewers.

Western Iowa is suppose to be active today.  Looks like just rain and hail in my area.

Nothing severe here in Mankato Minnesota, but I got some really nice lightning captures. How about you ?

All we had was rain this morning and lots of wind all day. Western Iowa hasn’t been as lucky.

Those are some awesome photos.

My video from Monday, May 16

Filmed the birth of a supercell that went on to produce several tornadoes.

Worst spring I can remember. So many games and practices cancelled.

I am not a weather nerd but follow local weather closely as it affects how I commute to work. I live about 90-100 miles from @easilyscan

Is it just me, or have the forecasts been less reliable lately?

Definitely less reliable imo. It seems they even have trouble forecasting simple things like will it be cloudy or clear tomorrow ?

My theory is that the vast majority of meteorologists (those you see on your local television channel) now rely on computer models to make the forecasts for them.

Cheaper for the local station to simply have the meteorologist present a model forecast, rather than paying them to put in hours analyzing data to make his/her own.

The atmosphere is pretty much capped for the southern half of Minnesota today. The severe stuff will be in the northern half.

We've been pretty lucky here in Iowa this year so far.  I saw a recent graphic that showed every thunderstorm and tornado warning in the US and there was almost nothing in Iowa.  All the surrounding states had them but not us.  Very strange.

Seems like you've had more than your share in recent years though.
