Love Battlebots - the first 2 rounds of the playoffs have had some of the best action start to finish of any episodes I've seen in awhile.  Two crazy fights last week.

 Just watched the one that caught fire and kept going. A lot of action in two minutes. Fusion and Minitor just started.

I haven't watched last night's matches.  I put em on DVR and usually watch them on Saturday morning - like a kid with cartoons.  So no spoilers, please, but I'm really hoping that either Minotaur, Witch Doctor or Huge win the Giant Nut this year.

If I watch, I dvr it.   SOOO much wasted time between matches it becomes unwatchable live.

That's why I DVR, Saturday morning cereal. Can watch everything interesting in about 45 minutes. 

I've timed it from the start of introductions to both bots just getting into the arena can be as long as 4 minutes.  They've only gone like 60 feet.  I ran a mile once in 4:08!!!  But

Other than that though, I can't get enough of fighting robots.  Wish that Discovery paid more, so more people would be enticed to enter and fight.  I want year round robot combat!

 It’s facilitating to watch. I DVR this season of the. Golden Bolt championships. Watching the eight teams that are competing for it. A must watch if you’re into it.

They need to be more transparent in what happens in the ring. Apparently, in the finals, they had to unstick the robots.  That probably saved Endgame from a whack from that saw/hammer thing. It happens, it's part of the sport, I don't know why the producers feel the need to edit that stuff out. After that happened, Sawblaze never got the low ground again and Endgame won.  

From the show footage, it looked like it should have been a clean sweep for Endgame, but from people who were there, it was much closer than it appeared on TV.  The last 2 episodes though were really good though.

 Agree. Very amazing sport. And in the final eight, there was some incredible driving and some awful driving. Great season.

Would love to read more about how "close" this match was.  They specifically asked Jameson Go if he was going to appeal and he said no, basically saying they kicked my a$$ fair and square.  I guess "people who were there" know better than the actual participants.

1.  He didn't say anything near that.

2. It was a split decision. So apparently the judges who were there, thought it was pretty close too. 

3. The post was mostly about the production and editing of the show. 

4.  FFS - If you are going to complain about the level of debate around here, stop acting like a child.

It being a split decision just means one judge had his head up his a$$.  Happens in UFC all the time.  Happened in one of the previous fights on this show as well.  As I said, when the competitor doesn't dislike the decision that's a pretty good indicator that the correct decision was made.

And that doesn't change anything I said...it's possible that competition can be much closer than show due to the edit and the competitor can still recognize that he lost the fight.

 I’m looking forward for next season. Side story: when little Bunny was a junior in high school, she joined the club that was building a battle bot for catholic HS competition. They were the only girls high school to participate out of twenty one teams. They came in third place. It was a lot of fun watching them compete. More intense than softball.

I don't "need to argue."  I am skeptical by nature if you haven't figured it out.  In my industry we have a saying - Trust but verify.  So I expressed skepticism and specifically said I'd like to read more about the people who said it was closer than the show suggested.  I assume you read that somewhere.  You could provide a link so I could read it from the horse's mouth.  Or was it on some embarrassing gay bodybuilding forum?  I dunno.  Sorry you're all butt hurt but there isn't anything inherently combative in asking for your source of information.

Yeah, there is nothing there that's condescending at all in your post.  You sarcastically questioned how "close" the match was,, put words in Jameson Go's mouth and questioned the people who attended the event.  But now it's about me misinterpreting your earnest question 

And of course you follow it up with more insults and arguments. And again, recall the person last year lamenting about how you can't have a honest intelligent debate around here.

In another bit of editing wackyness this episode, the End Game/Sawblaze fight had a long, like easily 20 or 30 minutes long, unstick cut early in the fight, where End Game's fork speared itself through the flamethrower cutout on Sawblaze's front and got it caught by the barb. Unfortunately, this unstick kinda killed Sawblaze's momentum, as they hadn't given End Game an inch to breathe after winning the initial ground game encounter up to that point.

This likely in part explains why it went to split decision. Recall Chris describing the fight as a "tale of two halves," even though it...really wasn't. In the seamless edit, we all saw Sawblaze dominate like the first 15%, and End Game the last 85%. But since everyone, including the judges, sat there for the bulk of the fight's IRL runtime thinking "wow, Sawblze sure is winning this," its possible that things got skewed without the benefit of being able to go back to the film.

It did a lot more than kill the momentum, it saved End Game from a free hit on their chassis. Who knows if their armor was enough or how the magnesium frame would have held!
