I’d do some of that too. Also ruin some peoples lives too though.

Maybe so, but my actions are the only ones I control.

And my wife.  That btch doesn’t blink without my permission!

I would give away every penny of it.

I’ve always said that after taking care of family and tucking away enough to live in luxury, I’d as much time as possible traveling with security and lots of cash, giving generous chunks of cash to complete strangers.   So much so that it’d be almost like a job.  Forget organized charities— I’m handing cash to strangers to change their lives.

Again, I don't think that's as easy as everyone thinks.  There is always going to be some family member or "friend" that doesn't think you should be giving it to complete strangers, that they didn't get enough, deserve more, etc.  Lots of money has a way of ruining people if you're not careful.

Quick short example:  It's uncomfortable with some of our relatives where we are the richest people they know, by quite a bit.  Some of them pretty soon start to expect that we always pay for everything, dinners, trips etc.  And we always do, that's not the issue.  The issue is when they start to expect it and without knowing start to resent you for it.

Winning that sort of cash sky rockets you out of the social class that all of your family and friends are in.

The other example I always use, maybe you've heard about it, is the old guy who won the big one.  What's a grandpa supposed to do but spoil his granddaughter.  New vehicles, spending money, where is the harm right? Well that puts the young teen in a different social class so she starts hanging out with new friends.  The wrong type of friends.  OD'd at the age of 18. You ask that guy and he'd tell you he wishes he never played the lottery.

Lol. The other obvious example are politician kids. Trump kids were born into that social status, and seem like functioning rich snobs. Bidens kids however hit the pay to play lotto.  Both of those kids are foked up six ways from Sunday.

I agree with you. The best is "tax on the poor". The counter argument is that their $8 shiit starbucks gives them something in return for their money while the $2 spent on a lottery ticket gives them nothing. I get it. But someone could say it's entertainment value and I'm sure we all spend money on stuff where all we get back is entertainment value. If I lose $100 at the casino, I chalk it up to entertainment value of playing for a few hours.

At the end of the day, it's no more my biz what people do with their money (legally) than it is what they do in their bedrooms.

The self-righteous crowd who cries about less government, more privacy - is the 1st to step up and tell people how best to spend their cash. They crack me up.
