B1CUDA 0 Posted August 11, 2023 $200.00 cap Auction, Full PPR, No team defense, one kicker, 12 team league. For those of you in auction leagues, what is your strategy for this year? Go heavy on WR's? RB's? Best value you can get? This league rewards double points for TD's that are over 35 yards (12 points) to a WR, RB, TE. Thanks in advance. I am getting back in to the auction side, and looking for some insight.
makindollaz 51 Posted August 11, 2023 The auctions I have are for 12-14 team leagues, but in a 12 team league I usually don’t bid in the first 2 rounds (other than my nomination bids). We play 11 starters (1 QB and mix of 10 RB/WR/TE), so need depth. I let guys blow their budgets in the first couple of rounds, then load up on players with draft ADP’s in the 30-60 range at a discounted price.
Gepetto 1,298 Posted August 11, 2023 I'm in an auction ppr 3 keeper (for one year) league. Keeping Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Etienne. So I start down 1/3rd of auction money available right off the bat. I still eye the very top guys that aren't kept so I'm targeting J. Chase, Travis Kelce, and also Bijan Robinson. Then I'll be about out of money but I probably won't get all 3 or maybe even any of those guys, just have to be ready to adjust. I like to just have in mind certain names I want on my team and usually end up with a group that I'm comfortable with. Before the draft, think about players I am higher on than the fantasy football community and ADP indicate and try to save enough to get those guys or nominate them myself if it gets to the halfway point about of the draft maybe, just not too early. My key advice is to budget and bid so you get players you like and you fill out your entire starting roster with quality starters. Try to draft players that have the talent and situation to statistically outproduce what they're expected to in 2023.
Chickie 74 Posted August 15, 2023 Auction/keep 3/ 3 year max/ Superflex. QBs are a hot commodity in Superflex as everyone knows. The two top QBs, Allen and Mahomes ( Hurts being kept) are potentially $60+. $200 budget. The next tier of Herbert, Lamar will go mid-high $50’s.( Lawrence, Tua, Deshaun, Burrow, Fields kept). My question is do you find that bargains sometimes happen early in the auction, when bidders are unsure of how the market will fare and don’t spend their bankroll, waiting to see how the market plays out? Gepetto 1,298 Posted August 15, 2023 If you want an elite QB draft one. If you want good value probably Geno Smith and Jared Goff. I'm keeping Mahomes and targeting Tua for my QB2. Tua's stats are off the chart when he played last year.
IGotWorms 4,057 Posted August 16, 2023 I like a lot of WRs in the WR12-45 range. My goal would be to get one of the studs then load up on value WR2s and 3s. I also like a lot of RBs in the RB10-30 range so I would probably get one or two value guys I could there and a couple super cheap guys that you think might do well. TE and QB, not so important, unless you could get Kelce or one of the top QBs for super cheap. In your situation I’d tend to go for lower end QB1s that can be had at substantial value. Guys like Fields, Watson or Prescott

Guys like Fields, Watson or Prescott this is a good answer. generally what I found in my mocks I've done this year: 1) There are an awful lot of WR. in the July mock good WR's were still being drafted in the late rounds. the only ones worth paying for would be the elite game breakers. after that, bide your time and wait for the money to run out. then pluck the good ones still on the board once the money runs short. 2) good RB are still scarce. 3) QB's still matter if you get an elite one. What I'd try to do is get at least one stud RB (possibly 2) and 1 stud WR. After that, you should be able to get good WR and third string RB on the cheap late in the draft. the difference between the 15 dollar WR and the 5 dollar ones isnt that large so you can save money here and get added depth if you are patient and play your cards right. QB is important but I wouldnt blow the budget on one unless you are in a league that starts 2 QB or runs a superflex format. QB's are a little tougher to figure in an auction as its really about how the league values them. some leagues you can get them cheap, some you cant.(its a know your league thing)
