Twitter/X awful

Recommended Posts

I very rarely use X, twitter, whatever it is now.... but I do have an account to follow some sports and entertainment stuff, I was following that college basketball betting account via @bostonlager and occasionally converse with local sports radio hosts. Not at all uncommon for me to go a month or two without evening opening the app on my phone.

Logged in to see that my account was permanently suspended for "violating their terms of service"

There is no customer service #, no in0-app chat feature, no support e-mail address. All you can do is open a ticket, which results in an immediate e-mail response that my account is suspended for violating terms of service and will not be restored. Just an immediate auto generated response.

I don't think I can even delete and create a new account because my phone number is tied to it?

I mean, at the end of the day it's no big loss since I don't really care about most social media.... but c'mon, really? How do companies operate like this and still have a user base? Turrble.

10 or so years ago before you had to add a phone number, I had an account that was hacked and someone was spamming tweets with it. That is the only thing I can think might have happened.

I think that may have been what happened. I don't think I had a phone number linked to the account until after it was suspended and I was trying to restore it (this happened back in March?) which shows how infrequently I use it since I am just now trying again to get it rectified.
