Jameson Williams Hamstring injury

I doubt too many of you have him on your fantasy radar due to missed time and coming back from ACL injury.  but one thing about ACL injuries is often the player is a bit more likely to have soft tissue injuries in the year or 2 years after the surgery.

This would be a case in point.

I'm not as worried about WR's coming off ACL's as I am RB's.  To me, this isn't a big deal.  Last year, Godwin had 100 receptions and 1000 yards and finished as WR19, coming off an ACL that he tore in December the prior year.  He was 9 months removed from surgery and still put up fantasy starter stats on a team with a garbage OC.  Williams is doubled the time removed from his ACL than Godwin was.  Hamstrings happen to tons of guys who aren't coming off an injury, plus he has what, a 4-game suspension to deal with?  I think he'll be fine.

6-game suspension. Williams first game back will be Week 7. Lions bye is Week 9. Then there's the acl issue.  He might be medically "fine", but he won't be clogging my roster.

Thanks, thought it was 4 games.  By the time he plays, he'll be almost 2 years past the injury.

Still not worried about the gambling, he wasn't betting on football, so I don't care.

so he got nailed for gambling on sports that are not football?   and was suspended for that?

ok thats a bit crazy.   I fully understand and get the gambling on football thing.   This feels like overkill

He is suspended for 6 games. He was making bets from the teams facilities, which is against the rules

If that's true he looks like an idiot. If it isn't true he looks like a liar.  Or he could just own up to it and look like a man. He chose option one.

I think there should always be some concerns when a young player is doing and saying stupid things early in his nfl carrier.

This quote tells me it was option two.

Read that too, which I think came after the original comment (agent idea maybe). In any case, sounds like he's trying to do both - "I didn't know, but it's my fault." He should drop the "I didn't know" stuff because if that's true, he looks really dumb. Even tries to minimize his ignorance by saying - other players didn't know either. Maybe, but I'd guess 99% of all NFL players do know. Most people who've never even played college or professional sports know player gambling is taboo.  But somehow, not Jameson.

No biggie, we just see this situation differently.
