Mike Honcho 5,270 Posted September 11, 2023 First weekend of pro football, yay! Odd sports weekend for us Wisconsinites. Lose the Badger game in a strange fashion, after going down 24-9 in the first half, which previously meant the game was over, the Badgers mounted a comeback, by PASSING. Got it to 24-22, before some questionable calls stopped their momentum. They will at least be interesting this year as they transition to the Air Raid. Then on Sunday the Brewers managed to no-hit the Yankees through 10 innings only to lose in 13. WTF? Ended the weekend on a high note with the successful debut of Jordan Love in Chicago. Just holding my breath that Aaron Jones and Reed will be good to go next week. Oh and I went to a church BBQ and got a great cheeseburger, but it wasn't good enough to get me to want to go back to church. On this day in 1297 Battle at Stirling Bridge, Scottish rebel William Wallace defeats the English --- recreated in the movie Braveheart, without a bridge. Every geek, have a great week. MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted September 11, 2023 Took the kids to the playground and then later the pool on saturday. Sunday I sat around the house all day and watched football. jerryskids 6,795 Posted September 11, 2023 This morning I dropped my wife off at the airport; she is attending a conference all week, which is code for "getting drunk every night and painfully sitting through boring presentations while hungover." I know from experience... I have enough food and drink to survive, I think. Also my older daughter seems to think I'll curl into a ball in my safe space and cry all week or something, so she is coming over to watch the MNF game (I do like seeing her of course, I just enjoy her lack of confidence in my coping skills ).
