Hoyer or O’Connel?

Recommended Posts

If Jimmy G is forced to miss Sunday’s game because of a concussion, should the Raiders start the predictable Hoyer over Aiden O’Connell? Are the Raiders afraid that if O’C plays well, that the fans will be looking for O’C to be their rebuilding QB and the front office will look like fools for signing Jimmy G?

Hoyer has proven to be a reliable backup.  he may even put up starting calibre numbers.   Also Hoyer is familiar with the offense from his days with the Pats.  They brought him in for a reason.

if Jimmy G misses time Hoyer is your guy.  You can bet on that.

despite the results he looked like a capable nfl QB.

obviously its his first start so there is still a lot for him to learn but I think hes already better than some NFL starters in this league.   If Jimmy G stinks the joint out I could see them moving to this kid to see if they can develop him into a starter

Would give him start the rest of the season imo.

that might be pushing it.   I think certain promises were made to Jimmy G to get him to sign there.

but he gets hurt a lot.  so its not pushing it to maybe sit him an extra week and give the kid an extra week of playing experience.
