Rate my trade? T. Higgins and Pollard for J. Ford and Waddle?

Recommended Posts

hi all, boring standard league where we start 2 RBs and 3 WRs.  I have Bijan and lost Chubb as my other stud RB.  Picked up guys here and there and had J. Ford.  WRs were solid with St. Brown, Waddle, Puca, Metcalf and just picked up KJ Osborn.  I just traded Jerome Ford and Waddle for Pollard and Tee Higgins.  I'm 3 and 3 so wanted to make a move to help make playoffs and just felt I need a solid RB starter.  Pollard is an upgrade and has his bye done after this week as well as Higgins who should get better when Cinncy starts to turn things around.

thoughts?  Thank you.

I think it was PT Barnum who said....... there's a sucker in every crowd and it's my duty to take advantage of them.

'If' Higgins heats up as Nomad99 predicted, it looks like you found a sucker & took full advantage!

Pollard is an upgrade to Ford...even with his limited production....which will get better. Even if Higgins starts producing only reliable wr2 #'s......this trade is a net positive with big upside.

I think if you look strictly at their perceived value, you got a pretty good deal.

However, IMO, Ford and Pollard aren't gonna be a whole lot different. Pollard will probably be the better of the two. I don't think it's gonna be by a huge margin though. Pollard isn't a workhorse back that's gonna put up huge numbers each week.  So his week to week upside is a bit limited. He's probably a low end RB 1 and Ford a mid range RB2.  .

However, at WR, I think Waddle has more upside than anyone in this trade. Both him and Tee Higgins have struggled and had some minor injury issues. I think it's safe to assume that both will pick it up from here on out. That said, they're both WR2 on their teams, but I think Waddle has WR1 potential in fantasy. He's on the hottest offense in the NFL. He can blow up any given week and have a crazy score, and he could do it consistently. Tee Higgins, he's a WR2, on his team and fantasy. He's always gonna be 2nd fiddle to Ja'Marr Chase. He's an excellent 2nd WR, but he's just not close to Waddle, IMO.

Couldn't you say the same thing about Waddle relative to Hill ?

I did say he was the WR2 on his team, I just didn't mention Tyreek Hill by name.

The difference is, I think Waddle has WR1 potential in fantasy. I think Higgins is capped as a WR2.

He definitely has the potential to be a WR1. The Dolphins are number 1 in passing, rushing, & total yards per game.

Yep, I think he's actually in the perffect set up with Tyreek. He's an excellent deep threat too and they can't even cover him deep

Comes down to Pollard Vs Ford, right now Pollard in .5 ppr has the edge, but slightly based on per game avg.  I have a feeling that Ford might  pull ahead as the season rolls along, Hunt as a problem staying healthy.

Thanks all. We will see how it plays out.  We play 2 RBs and 3 WRs and with losing Chubb, I only have Bijan and each week I'm trying to find a solid 2nd starter.  For WRs, I just felt I was solid with St. Brown, Metcalf, Puca, and KJ for a few more weeks.  And with the bye, I think Cinncy is only going to get better and Higgins should improve.  thank you again.
