Spinoff: Your thoughts on law enforcement/states attorneys.

Thinking about the lead detective in American Nightmare, and what MLCAA said about what he (Mat Mustard) said about Aaron--"Here to make you look like a monster"

 

I'm generally pro- law enforcement.  Well, I mean...I guess it depends.  I guess I 'm pro-innocent person, anti-thug.

I watch soooooo soooo many crime shows. True Crime Network is  the only channel that comes in good in my shop on over the air antenna)

I DO often think and SEE this:

The States attorney and lead detective AND the family of the victim in MANY cases -- are there to get A prosecution. Key word being A. 

They don't care if its the CORRECT person found guilty.  They just want SOMEONE charged and punished.   They care that get a tally mark in the "WIN"  column. 

American Nightmare case is proof positive that it happens sometimes.  I just think that "sometimes", is leaning towards often. 

Some folks are just plain old "anti-police" -- the folks that comment with "pigs" on every police video on youtube.  Those folks are just purebred dumbasses that react instead of think.

Law enforcement is one of the hardest jobs in the world. The stress and mental toll of dealing with the dregs of society day after day will wear the best of us down. Police see the most focked up sh1t. 

Like most jobs with power and authority, it can draw the worst type of people to it. Which could lead to power trips.

It’s a top down entity. A cop can’t do a malicious, untoward prosecution by themselves. Up the chain has to be in on it. They can start one, but it goes nowhere without someone signing off on it.

I received a jury summons the other day.  On the questionnaire I replied "NO" to to the question about whether I could be fair and impartial.  Hopefully that gets me out of it. 

I already did my civic duty serving on a jury several years ago.  Once is enough for me.

I need to call next weekend to find out if my group number is called. If my group gets called I'm planning on wearing one of my many concert shirts in the hope of NOT getting selected.

Which of the following should I go with?

Gojira, Amon Amarth, or Ghost?

Some people deny it, but it’s so prevalent.  They want a conviction and that’s ALL they care about.  That’s all.

Unfortunately I'm not into country - not that I mind it when I hear it  - or else I'd probably have a shirt with some confederate flag imagery.  That would definitely work.

The trial I served on before involved a  POS pedophile that they were pushing for early release.  Old dude.  Looked like Santa.  He got off on having kids sleep over and would pump full of drinks before bed so that they would wet the bed in order to get off on making them wear a diaper.   Sick fock.  Trial was all about studies and rates of recidivism, etc.

Anyways I clearly stated that I did not believe that sex offenders could be rehabilitated.  While I'm sure the defense attorney wanted me gone, each attorney only get a couple of expulsions/objections.  Unfortunately for me there was a juror before me that was a victim of sexual abuse as a minor that got the boot before me.
