They better not let those Toyotas hook up like that again.

Busch & Berry both busted for speeding on exit just focked me out of what might've been a decent day.

This last stage has been brutal, someone should hit the pace car, they've hit everything else today.

Ross Chastain interview on The Athletic.

Quote

3. What is your most recent memory of something you got way too competitive about?

DAP (NASCAR’s Driver Ambassador Program, which awards points for doing promotional work and interviews and pays out from a fund worth millions of dollars.)

I was already doing a lot of this stuff; now there’s just points involved. So yeah, I’m competitive. I’m putting in the work, and it helps me, it’s self-serving. But I put effort into traveling and trying to promote races ahead of time. Not just always during the weekend, but traveling out a week or two ahead of time to a market. We do that on our own, and now there’s just a real, incentivized way to track it.

So now I don’t feel so bad about asking you for an interview.

I don’t think this counts.

It does.

Look at me. Look at me! I didn’t even know it. I’m here on my own goodwill.

And then...

Quote

5. What kind of Uber passenger are you, and how much do you care about your Uber rating?

I don’t care. I don’t even know where to see the Uber rating, actually. But I would love to just ride in a car everywhere. If I could just get up and ride to Chevy in the morning or Trackhouse instead of driving, I could definitely get more done and focus on the phone calls I’m on.

Where do you see your rating? (Chastain opens his app and looks it up.) Oh, 4.92. Do you tip? I don’t.

You don’t tip, and you still have a 4.92?

I paid to ride in the car. Do you tip when someone grabs you a water out of a cooler, like if you just get a drink at a restaurant or something?

If they put the screen in front of me, I feel so bad. “Just answer one question.” I seize up.

What if it’s like 82 cents? You’re just getting a drink. What if you grab it yourself, set it on the counter, they ring it up and then it asks if you want to tip?

It depends if I can do it without them seeing.

(Laughs.) Oh my gosh! You’ve gotta stand up to the tip. It’s a whole thing. Nope.

I think he's burned up all the goodwill he gained from doing interviews, meeting fans and promoting races by admitting he's a bad tipper.

Somebody should let him know he's not a watermelon farmer anymore.

What I don't like is having to declare the tip amount before any service has been provided. I tip based on the level of service provided. The better the service, the bigger the tip. I'm not going to give you 30% up front. But if I only tip 15% up front, it's liable to result in sh!tty service.

Agreed.  I only have one place that I go to regularly where that's a problem, a seasonal place that's like Dairy Queen, ice cream, burgers etc. They always do a good job, so I give them 20%. I actually preferred it when they had a tip jar, then I knew that the kids working there were getting the money and not wondering is the owner of this place giving this back to them?

Also, now I'm wondering if they are open yet?

Great job @SUXBNME, your line-up had the most FP and 4 for 4 on the picks.

Fock that guy!

After seeing your line-up yesterday and how that race unfolded, I'm convinced you are jinxed this year. One pit stop, jackman on the #9 drops the jack before the wheel is on and Hamlin's car just dies.   Teams probably should pay you not to pick them.

Ain't that the truth. It's been brutal this year. It's a long season but fock! :wall:

I'm just hoping to not finish the year in last place.

Carson Hocevar continues to be NASCAR’s most interesting new personality. Hocevar won Saturday night’s Truck Series race at Kansas after he was nearly wrecked by Layne Riggs on the last lap — only to then hold his middle finger out the window to Riggs all the way to the finish line.

He definitely looks to be coming into his own.

Smoke is the points leader in top fuel. That was fun to watch. Good for him.

Rain delay and a rough start to the Indy 500 not looking good for Larson to run the marathon today.

This has been one of the freakiest Indy's in a long long time, pre-green crashes, first lap crashes and now a fire. Fingers crossed that nothing else happens.

It's crazy, cause while the race was going, I went back and watched Rick Mears talk about his 81 fire, just a few minutes before Rossi's fire happened.

Right?

McLaughlin spinning out while warming up the tires on the pace lap?

Marco getting wrecked on lap 4.

Now this guy taking out his pit crew?

:shocking:

These cars are too equal now. It was better when the different manufacturers would compete to find an advantage, then the other one would build on it and improve it.

100%. Same problem with NASCAR. Spec racing is ghey. Let the engineers engineer.
