I rarely support government actions but in this case they are right.  You should read up on the issue and other right to repair issues.  Companies are taking advantage of the law as written.

If businesses are poorly run, I simply don't frequent them.

Yes clearly McDonalds is poorly run. Barely anyone has even heard of them.

Well, government seems to have a problem with them. But I used businesses as a general term. If they aren't run well, I avoid.

I have young kids and like to give them McDonald’s as a treat once in a while. We may have gone there once in the last 3-4 months. Shitt food and expensive? Nah.

This isn't about McDonalds.  As I said, research the issue.  It's about "right to repair" and a lot of large corporations are caught up in it.   This is one area where I'm ok with the government getting involved.  It's laws they passed that allow this issue to exist in the first place.
