Manning told a story about a time early in his career when he didn't know much about fantasy football and they won 10-7 on a last second field goal. Next week a fan asked "What happened?" Manning said "Great game, right? Worked for every yard and scraped out a victory!" The fan replied "Yeah, but you didn't throw any Tds.?." Manning said "Apparently your goals and my goals aren't exactly the same." Sounds like a classic Jim Mora win.

Jayden had a good fantasy day, but he fumbled three times, and couldn't connect with any of his receivers. Bo Nix had an atrocious throw where he carried over his bad habit from preseason where he tried to fade backwards and still force a ball and it got picked off at the goal line, and just in general, didn't look ready for the speed of the game. Penix probably had the best day given how horrible Cousins looked. This is true. Only one was called a generational talent. Only one had the best setup a rookie QB has ever had. The Bears with Allen, Moore, Odunze, Kmet, and Swift put up a whopping 148 total yards. About as much as Mason ran for vs the Jets. Oh yea and Bears were at home.

I almost benched Caleb in week 1 and will likely bench him week 2 but I figure he will come around. its just gonna take a couple weeks

Whats it a 16 man league?
edjr 6,580 Posted September 13, 2024 The Bears suck. Awful ownership, no clue what they are doing. They would have ruined John Elway. Loser organization.

Loser organization. they have ruined a lot of top QB prospects in the last 20 years. thats for sure. This time I figured they were doing a lot of things right. dude has lots of weapons. Line is decent. These are things you want for your QB. in the past they brought in their QB to play behind a subpar line or with no good WR to throw to and that's not good. There are QB coaches and O C's who have a reputation of being good at working with young QB's out there. when you have a young QB I'd not leave it to chance. I'd bring these guys in and make sure that kid has the full chance at success. I am hopeful here with Chicago. Like I said, for the first time I think they may actually be doing things right in terms of developing their young QB. Waldron was behind Geno Smiths turnaround so hes got a history of taking a young QB (one who was on the scrap heap) and turning him into a player. he has also worked on some good teams with good coaches. was in New England years ago when they were good. he was with LA under McVay. so he knows how to run an offense. so we will see. one bad game doesnt define a player. lots of players flop in their first appearance as a pro. we need to remember, the first year is a year of learning. I dont mind if the kid makes a lot of mistakes as long as he learns from those mistakes. Thats the key. but for us, its wait and see. I predict 3 or 4 games where the stat line wont be great and then he will start to show signs of being a player. likely inconsistent at first, but will gradually become more consistent. No one game doesnt. Im a Packers fan and like to pile on. It was a chuckle to see him throw for like 93 yards. But they pulled it off. Their defense is real solid. If hes waiting on that cast to get wide open idk. He has options all over the field. He will probably be good in time. But its the Bears so never know.
