Bought a Steamdeck...

Recommended Posts

Sorta bored here at times when the boy is at work and I'm just chilling by myself.  Only computer I have is for work.

So... I've had my eye on a Steamdeck for awhile.  We have about 200 games in our library.

The other day I said meh... may as well get one.  So I picked up one of the new OLED screen jobbers.

https://www.steamdeck.com/en/oled

I went with the 512gb as it comes with a micro SD slot so...

Excited to try it out.  Still waiting for it to ship.

Anyone have one?

Looks cool but I just spent money on the PS5.

I downloaded an emulator app on my iPhone and it's been awesome.  Been playing some old NES and SNES games on it.  Was able to use an old PS3 controller with Bluetooth.  So much fun.

what I have heard is that there is a community doing ports to steamdeck, games that weren't even made for it yet are now playable

Steam deck is hugely popular at one of the nerdy/game site I post at.

It doesn't fit my use case and I have previous posts on here bashing it, however I was wrong and it was a success.

Us discussing it awhile back hasn't left my mind.  I figured you know what... it's seemed to have lasted the test of time.  Usually these things will Peter out after a couple years.  Hopefully all the bugs are worked out!
