Ray_T 753 Posted September 16, 2024 is it me? or is it a case where players who hold out are a lot less likely to have a good season? They either get hurt or just have a bad season after the holdout. I dont know if its a case where missing camp hurts them or if its a case where they try so hard to prove they are worth the money that its actually counter productive. It is tempting to study this to see if there is a correlation. Thoughts?
weepaws 3,191 Posted September 16, 2024 Both Ray, missing camp doesn’t help the team or the player holding out, and once they get paid, I think the pressure to live up to their big pay day does come into play.
polecatt 478 Posted September 16, 2024 Two prime examples right now... CeeDee Lamb and Ja'Marr Chase.... CeeDee has 9 catches for 151 yards, including a 65 yd TD. This is right on par with how he normally starts the season. Chase, 10 catches for 97 yds. no TDs. Last season in the first two games, he had 10 catches for 70 yards and no TDs. The Bengals were off to a rocky start as well. With regards to these two, it's difficult to say the holdout is effecting them too much, although it's not been long. gcmmidwest 149 Posted September 16, 2024 Zeke held out and got paid and still sucked ... The NFL is the only league this problem occurs... The team owners need to get together and blackball them in my opinion...just greed all the way around
