My Moms paternal grandparents were killed in a tornado when my Mom was about 12 years old. My Moms family lived a couple of miles from her grandparents house and saw and heard the tornado before it hit their house. Her grandparents were found in an apple orchard about 150 yards from the main house. My Mom was always extremely frightened by any bad weather until she passed away a couple of years ago.
