Ferguson with Dak on IR?

Recommended Posts

Ferguson has been a solid TE with the position overall having a down year. But with Dak now out roughly 4wks.. can you trust him as a TE1?

I think his stock goes up with the back up Qb taking over.

I agree with this.

Or at least I don't think his stock goes down any.

Cooper Rush isn't a bad dink and dunk QB. He will probably target Ferguson often. He's not as much of a big play QB as Dak, but that doesn't really apply to Ferguson.

All bets are off though if they decide to play Trey Lance

it is possible that both QB will get some playing time   so I personally believe it is a crapshoot.

one thing I will say.... CeeDee's value will go down until Dak returns

CeeDee's value will go down because the deep ball probably won't be there but I think most others will remain similar.

It's not like the value was sky high with Dak in the first place

I could see Lance getting some garbage time snaps. Possibly more if he plays well.

Nothing of fantasy value

this is exactly why I think his value is down until Dak returns.

short game (dink and dunk) will always be there but thats not really Ceedees game.   he can do it, but its not the best use of his skillset

CeeDee is excellent running after the catch, so he can still turn a short play into a long one, but yes, his downfield ability is his biggest strength. That's just not the same with Cooper Rush. He came into the season as a high end WR1, and some even said the top overall pick. I thought that was a little high, but I saw the point of view. Now I think he's a WR2.

If they do make the move to start Trey Lance at some point, that's gonna be a wild card. It could hinder his short game but his long game may come back a bit too. Have to see what happens.

yep top 5 pick in most formats.

WR2 is probably correct.   as far as backups go Cooper Rush is fairly competent.   he just wont go deep as often as he should with a guy like CeeDee on the roster.

Rush probably could start on some teams who run a ball control style offense that has a really good O line and ground game.   but that may be pushing the upper limits of his upside and Dallas doesnt have that, so I figure he wont be as effective as the last time he had to play when Dak got hurt.
