Well......Liberalism at it's finest here

Recommended Posts

A few months ago, my wife's sister (maybe 34b?) asked if she could move in with us.  She's single, bit of a hermit and scared of everything, all the time.  I was against it, but I love my wife and if her sister needs help and we can give it, then yeah.  We have room, we would be happy to take her in.  She offered to pay us $200/month.  Which we agreed to.  She's offered to double that recently and we said no.  We don't need her money.  We don't even need the $200 but to cover extra utilities etc.  Sure.

Of course. she's also a big time liberal.

My wife and I are not.   We both voted for Trump.   Her more cause he wasn't Kamala and the liberal party but that's fine.

Sis in law has been pretty good about not bringing up politics with us or trying to discuss it.   That ended last night.   She is 100% convinced Trump is going to cancel her social security.  I mean absolutely sure of it.  I tried to reason with her some, but you absolutely cannot discuss an opposing view point with her.   She will not hear of it.

Wife just called, and she's at it again with her.  My wife is trying to tell her she doesn't agree with her, and trying to explain why she doesn't agree.  Nope.   No chance.  So now, the sis in law is looking for her own place.

So this is her liberal logic.  First she's convinced her SS will be eliminated.  Therefore her best option is to find her own place, at 4X or more the rent she pays now, because we don't align with her political beliefs.   THIS friends and neighbors, is liberalism at it's most unsettling.   Emotions are taking over and irrational decisions are following---quickly.

She's always been like this and this is why I really didn't want her moving in.  She's kind of a wackadoodle.  In 2020, while we were out on my porch, all socially distanced, enjoying some drinks in the sun, she said out loud  "I'm certain covid is going to kill me."

Just can't reason with her.  I absolutely told my wife this would be a bad idea......and here it comes.

The only positive I can get from this is I have a wheelbarrow full of "I told you so's" BJ's to collect on.

I'm not going to defend your SIL here and I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like she's got some raging anxiety issues. Hopefully that has more to do with her instability than the liberalism does.

I fully expect to have jokes and insults thrown at me over this. I would simply ask that they be funny. TIA

Also, good f'n luck on collecting your wheelbarrow full. At our ages it seems like wives have forgotten about the multi-functionality of their oral cavities, and primarily use them for antagonism, as opposed to what you're hoping for. At least in my experience. T&P.

No you're right.  She admits that.  One of the reasons why she wanted to move in.  she has real legit anxiety issues.   but it's her liberalism...just our not agreeing with her political positions, that will push her out again, on her own, with no income(according to her).  That's just irrational

Nope.  She has that covered.  She's not a raging alcoholic or anything.  She has a couple drinks a night, can't smoke weed cause one time, her doctor told her her lungs were starting to show signs of smoke related issues.  So she turned that into having full blown COPD(which she does not have).  Now she doesn't smoke and acts like people are trying to kill her if they smoke around her.

So it's either gummies or chocolate for the THC

Oof. Good luck with this one, @supermike80

If nothing else, you can follow HT's advice, drink and smoke weed until she's outta there. Then attempt to collect the wheelbarrow. Then start a thread about collecting the wheelbarrow and where it all went so wrong...
