My son intends to enroll at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the fall

All kids are like that when they start school and are on their own…. My two were the same way, one with field hockey and the other with orchestra…

I hope you've had plenty of conversations with him about alcohol/drug use and abuse, protecting himself from STI's, etc.

If I learned anything from my many trips to Madison to party back in the day, it's that drinking/partying there is not like drinking elsewhere, even other college towns. Drinking is the state pastime. It gets out of control. I remember Halloween on State St. one year when my group and I literally walked through a riot without realizing it because it was so rowdy to begin with. That's Madison!

The amount of attractive women in that town is grossly disproportionate to the rest of the state. For his own sake, I hope your son is hetero. It would be a shame for him to miss out on that much opportunity.

If he keeps his head on straight, he'll have an amazing experience. Madison is an awesome city and UW a great school.

A liberal "worldly man" = having gone to Madison, Wisconsin a couple times 50 years ago. 😆
