TheNewGirl 1,400 Posted May 15 I've had the same email address for over 25 years, ever since I got internet access, I imagine. I am using the "Unroll Me" subscription thing to unsubscribe from emails, and I still find that I get some that I have to manually click/link to to unsubscribe. However, it seems like more and more that I NEVER subscribed to are coming in. Is this what they do now? Unsubscribe from one specific address so they still send you cr@p from another? it has gone down considerably from hundreds every day to like 10 or 15, but it's still annoying. Anyone have any suggestions to just eliminate them altogether? I have another email address I use, but I don't want to switch entirely.

It's why you never answer calls from numbers you don't know... if a person answers, they know you exist and add you to a list then allllllll the spam calls start flooding in. I have to fess up - whenever a site I go to that asks me for an email before I can peruse the site, I give em yours, was that wrong?

Horseman 2,417 Posted May 15 Gmail does a pretty good job filtering them out into "promotional", "social" and "updates" keeping your primary inbox pretty clean. And it learns from spam reporting and/or if you find something you need to respond to in the other categories it will start putting it in your primary all on its own. You can also flag as important. Cdub100 3,863 Posted May 16 Don't unsubscribe have your email mark them as spam. When you unsubscribe they know your email is active and more valuable. Every time you give your email out that company sells it to another company that sells it to a bunch of companies. The best thing to do is auto send everything to spam and mark the email you do want as trusted. It will take some time but it will clean up your box. The best part is if you're looking for an email in spam just do a search. So you don't have to spend a lot of time looking for it.

Yes, I just unsubscribed from something I never subscribed to, then I started getting emails from other emails, mostly for lawn care services. I'm not going to unsubscribe anymore, just click SPAM or Junk.
