Massachusetts Institute of Technology shutters DEI office following monthslong 'comprehensive assessment'

Recommended Posts

MIT bends the knee to the dictator.  Too weak to fight like their neighbor Harvard.

Also...

Kornbluth insisted MIT is not abandoning efforts to ensure a diverse community but said the university will “shift focus to community building at the local level” and that the ICEO’s signature programs will be taken up by other departments on campus.

They're just hiding it so dear leader doesn't attack them further or pull their funding.

Smart. So this is a cosmetic move, just for sake of apperances and ultimately nothing will have changed (except Trump will have nothing to point to justify cutting funds). 😁

I wonder who is the target audience for this video?

That video is dumb.  MIT is taking credit for everything one of their graduates had a hand in developing, but if MIT didn't exist, wouldn't all of these people just gone to different schools and studied engineering and came up with the same stuff?

Well it was the MIT community that helped inspire these innovations you might say.  Well, who's to say if MIT didn't exist, even better innovations would've come to pass through inspiration from other communities.

This is the kind of logic lost on MIT grads.

Just close any schools down if they keep any dei crap. Give them 1 day to shut it down or shut them down.

DEI is discrimination at it's worst.

The primary benefit of an environment like MIT is its ability to collect the greatest technical minds into one place, so that they work together and bounce ideas/experiments off each other at a blinding pace.  Something of a "1 + 1 = 10" situation, to use a binary/base ten pun.  Otherwise you have a bunch of geniuses trying to do brilliant stuff one-off while surrounded by gammas like gutter who are training to be code monkeys.

You can argue that in the absence of MIT, some other place would have taken its place.  That's probably true.  But the reality is that MIT is currently that place, and you can't just wave a magic wand and instantly create the best technical institution in the world overnight.  This is why it so saddened me when they increasingly went woke over the past few years.

Bro completely misses the point and thinks collaboration among average people is the same as collaboration among geniuses.

Quadruple? What's the word for doing it 4,667 times under the "bro Ron" user name?
