Former ICE chief torches 'unconscionable' Biden-era policies as Trump's DHS finds migrant children

The Department of Homeland Security is touting an effort to save children who may be facing exploitation as a result of having an "unvetted" sponsor when they entered the country illegally.

Last week, the Trump administration noted that there were 300,000 children who were "lost or placed with unvetted sponsors" during the Biden administration that came over unaccompanied, raising concern that they were placed with traffickers, and they say 13,000 have already been found.

"It just shows how unconscionable the previous administration was on the immigration issue," former acting ICE Director Jonathan Fahey told Fox News Digital in an interview.

The ACLU hotline for reporting suspicious ICE behavior is 1-888-567-ACLU

@Maximum Overkill would you be kind enough to add this number to the thread title? If you truly care about fighting criminals we need to start with the ICE thugs and work upwards from there to the DHS. Thanks

Over 100K Americans rush to join Trump's massive ICE hiring spree nationwide, DHS says

More than 100,000 Americans have applied for roles with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since the organization began a recruiting drive at the end of last month, the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

President Donald Trump's administration launched a drive to hire 10,000 additional ICE agents at the end of July, offering incentives to candidates and removing certain limits on who can apply. The total number of applicants has now eclipsed 100,000 in barely two weeks. The agency had received 80,000 applicants as of August 6.

"Our country is calling you to serve at ICE. In the wake of the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies, your country needs dedicated men and women of ICE to get the worst of the worst criminals out of our country," DHS Secretary Kristi Noem told Fox News Digital in a statement. "This is a defining moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, your experience, and your courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend the homeland."

Three states sign new agreements with ICE for expanded immigration enforcement operations

Three new states have signed agreements of varying intensity and substance, with one governor 1,700 miles away from Mexico saying his is effectively a "border state" due to its major fentanyl crisis.

On Wednesday, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey will announce one of the most wide-ranging agreements a state has forged with ICE yet, enlisting the West Virginia State Police, Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation and National Guard to aid immigration enforcement through the "287(g)" authority heralded by President Donald Trump.

West Virginia has long ranked among the states with the highest rates of drug-related deaths, a crisis that Morrisey says underscores the need to work with ICE to combat fentanyl trafficking.

Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has recently adjusted its policy regarding cooperation with federal immigration authorities like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This change, enacted through an executive order signed by Chief Pamela A. Smith, outlines specific ways MPD officers can now interact with and assist ICE.

Key aspects of the new policy

Sharing Information during Traffic Stops: MPD officers are now authorized to share information with ICE about individuals not in police custody, such as those encountered during routine traffic stops. This includes sharing personal or identifying information, according to NBC Washington and an internal memo.

Assisting with Transportation: The new order allows MPD to provide transportation for federal immigration agencies and their detained individuals.

Limitations on Involvement: While expanding some areas of cooperation, the order also reaffirms existing restrictions. MPD officers are still prohibited from inquiring about immigration status solely for the purpose of enforcing civil immigration laws or arresting individuals based solely on federal immigration warrants or detainers. They also cannot share information about individuals in police custody with federal immigration agencies or allow federal immigration officials to question individuals in police custody.

Federal immigration agents shoot San Bernardino man's car, authorities say

Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection opened fire on a man who they say struck two officers with his vehicle around 8:40 a.m. Saturday in San Bernardino.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, a person refused to exit his vehicle during an attempted traffic stop while a targeted immigration enforcement operation was taking place. The agency said the man "drove his car at the officers," striking two.

Called ICE on the local tamale lady. I may have used a little hyperbole in describing her business practices. I said she never washes her hands and never cleans her equipment.

ICE agent was all like "really never or just figuratively never". I was like look dude, dont be a hauck, just go get rid of her.
