Obviously, though, they both lead to bad outcomes in excess. I think the sweetening of soda debate is kinda stupid right now. There’s so many other things to fight for that would probably make more of a positive impact on people’s health. What is true though, is that HFCS causes more inflammation than sugar. If two people with identical BMI, lean mass, vital signs, etc are assessed , you can’t argue that the more inflamed person is as healthy. Theyre literally walking around while their organs are being damaged. Not everyone who is fat gets NAFL, gout, or reduced kidney function. But my most recent post wasn’t about that it, it was about sugar vs aspartame (or other artificial sweeteners). Sure, diet soda may not be “healthy” for you in the long run, but it’s not nearly as bad for you as drinking a regular soda even if it has cane sugar.
