That may be true, but the fact that it happened should be an indicator that CA has lost it's luster.  CA never would have lost to those states back in the 70's or 80's.

On this site with 12 angry conservative people 😂

How many angry libs are there here?   And for the record, I didn't vote for CA, MA, NY, etc......Those are all places I would still love to visit.

They appear to be a bit more rational on this state vote 😂

I would say it's because liberal policies have caused the states to suffer to the point that people don't want anything to do with them anymore.  The FACT that CA has a net outward migration of U.S. citizens year after year has nothing to do with them being liberal other than the policies the libs are enacting are crazy and not beneficial to Americans.  If the libs were enacting reasonable policies that wouldn't be the case.  So it's not the liberals themselves, it's the policies the libs have embraced.

BS.  Most people are leaving CA, NY, NJ primarily due to cost, primarily housing and taxes.  This has been repeated in multiple polls and studies in recent years.  Another reason is the change in work climate, primarily WFH.

You might argue that liberal policies cause high taxes, fine.  High housing cost is a function of supply and demand.  liberal policies cause low supply?  Maybe, there is also a high demand because people have for a long time wanted to live in these states.

Housing costs in CA are higher not just due to supply and demand, but the amount of regulations and red-tape to actually build here; all of those costs are passed down.

I’d say Arkansas is underrated. Gone there for work and was dreading it a bit, PITA to get there, was expecting a bit rednecky (doesn’t bother me too much but not the greatest either). Was pleasantly surprised.

For sheer beauty Montana ranks very high.

I would move to Montana if it weren't land locked; I need an ocean nearby.

I live 5 minutes from the reservoir below.  Keep meaning to do some stuff there but just haven't yet, and I know that once I do I'm gonna love it:

Voted Delaware and Mississippi

imo Delaware offers the least in the USA. The Biden rest area on I95 might be it’s biggest asset

My dummy corporation for tax purposes was incorporated in DE -

Yes, CO is another option.

I know this sounds horrid, but basically waiting for my mom to pass away to see what kind of move is available for us. Then we'd take my dad with us.

I don't think it's horrid at all.   It's understandable.  I know a lot of people I grew up with who are waiting for specific reasons to get out of CA.  I'm trying to think of any of my close circle out there who AREN'T planning on moving away, most when they retire but pretty much all planning on moving.  And I wasn't trying to sway you from CO, although it's a great place to live, but just showing you that there are ways to have access to a lot of the water activities we all grew up with in CA even in landlocked environments.
