Not many options..but am I crazy to consider Lamar?!

Recommended Posts

Lamar and Flowers cost me the win, and assuring me a spot in the playoffs.  But there was the fumble through the endzone and questionable OPI call on Flowers, along with Washington's dropped deep balls, etc.   Game and their results could've been a good bit different...

With too many injuries, I'd have to drop M Wilson, Flowers, or Marks to pick up a back up QB from waivers tonight (yes, I stupidly last second switched out Maye for Lamar - clearly a brain malfunction so don't ask!).  It'd have to be probably TLaw or Tyrod Taylor (only others are Stroud, Shough, Sanders, Ward, Geno, Cousins).

I make the playoffs with a win, or if I lose by less than 9 points this week!  I feel like he's been getting healthier and can do decently without my needing a QB rental.  Should I put my faith in Lamar to break his 3 game slump?  If not, TLaw or ?

Thanks!!

Thanks!  Lol, I'm still worried but don't think a QB rental will gain that much for me anyway...

As an fyi, Mariota is also available assuming, JD doesn't play this week..

Thanks and yeah, some shocking sits this year as was mentioned in another post I was reading!   But had him sitting since he was last out for injury (have Maye too), but illogically started him because Maye was only averaging 17.5 points in recent games, lmao - oh foolish me!

With Sauce out and Indy have some issues, it does seem friendly..  Main concern is having to drop a decent player to grab him, in which case I've already hurt my team heading into the playoffs.  Thinking I'll risk it with Lamar unless I hear strong arguments against it.  🙂

I have a gut feeling this is the 'get right' game for Lamar. TLaw is enticing but I wouldn't drop any of those 3 for him.

Was looking closer at each QBs stats over the last 5 games:

Lamar scored:  33.6, 19.4, -0.35, 7.75, 5.00 points in our league with 5 total TDs (all passing), 3 INTs, and 2 fumbles

TLaw scored:   21.4, 7.4, 17.55, 19.7, 24.95 points in our league with 10 total TDs (7 passing, 3 rushing), 6 INTs, and 2 fumbles.

That said, Lamar is practicing today - 1st Wednesday he's participated in since Nov 5th, so could be sign he's at least getting healthier.

Any changes in opinions?

Tlaw looks like the safer option

Thanks!  I'm pulling my hair out here, lol..I really don't want to drop a potential starter (now figure it'd be Flowers or Monangai) for a one week QB rental.  But as is said in the following write-up, 0 TDs in the last 4 games for Lamar!  Plus Steeler D has gotten better during the last 4 games:

" Across his last four games, he has finished as the QB15, QB29, QB25, and QB27 in weekly scoring. Since Week 10, among 35 qualifying passers, he ranks 16th in yards per attempt, 35th in highly accurate throw rate, and 29th in catchable target rate. It has been horrible. There's no way around that, and if Jackson can't supplement his struggling passing production with rushing equity, it's tough to trust him in fantasy. Now, as I write this, watch Jackson go out and have a massive bounce-back game against a struggling defense in a divisional game and spike everything I just said in my face. That's the risk of benching Jackson this week, but we can also say that he hasn't played well over the last four games. Since Week 9, Pittsburgh's pass defense has picked up the slack, allowing the seventh-fewest yards per attempt, the ninth-lowest passer rating, the fourth-lowest CPOE, and the eighth-lowest success rate per dropback."
