Beards

I haven't used a razor in almost 20 years.  Even when I didn't have a beard I would just use the trimmers on my face.  Preferred some light scruff over clean shave.  Even now, I don't clean shave my neck, just use the trimmer.

Pretty much the same for me but about 10 years with clippers. I have to clean shave my neck though, neck stubble is just too itchy, hence the razors.

When I retired I stopped trimming or grooming my beard and my hair for 18 months.  Towards the end little kids would approach me and ask me if I were Santa as both beard and hair are now snow white as happens to many of Irish decent.  Since then I have cleaned it up and have both hair and beard more or less under control.  I did have a laugh when both were long.  I went to a strip club (Shotgun Willies for the locals) for a bachelor party for a guy to become a nephew in law.  The strippers could not get enough of posing with and flirting with "Santa".

My neck always got irritated and had ingrown hairs.  That's why I stopped.

My wife's uncle has white hair and he grows his out every year for Christmas so he can play Santa.  He loves it.

So I should blame my filthy mick heritage for the stunningly quick descent from looking like I could pass for 35-40 to the present, when a full-grown beard and growing out my hair makes me look closer to 60?

I knew paddy genetics couldn't be trusted!

There are benefits and curses for those genetics.  At least you could probably tan under a 40 watt soft light light bulb, I know I can.

I tan beautifully and my skin is excellent. A couple nice days out in the sun with shorts and a tank top and I'm good to go for the summer, even on my shaved scalp. With the mick/kraut mixture I can't quite explain it. Maybe there's an impure bloodline in my heritage somewhere.
