Scott vs Rory is simply a matter of philosophy.

 

Extrapolated for effect, which player would you consider better?

1. The guy that only makes 3 of 10 cuts in Majors, but won all 3.

2. The guy that makes all 10 cuts, finishes top 10 every time, but only has 1 win.

 

I'm a wins guy. So I'll take #1. And we all know history will see that player as the best player in the world in that 10 Majors span......But yeah, if you pit them head to head in all 10 tournaments and bet on each, you'll come out ahead by betting on #2.

The real difference between Rory v. Scott is this. Scott may be at his prime right now - this could be the best he has. Rory is still a few years away from reaching his. When he gets there, who knows what he will achieve.

Miguel Angel Jimenez is much cooler than Cabrera. Miguel is one of the few that get it. He makes millions playing a game. He smokes, he drinks he has a good time. He is one of the few that actually looks like he is having fun being out there.

You can't do both? You need more practice.

 

I'm good with the drinking and smoking I just can't find time to practice. If I have time to practice I'd rather play. That is why I will always be a 10 - 12 handicap.

It amazes me to see these clowns walk up to the range with a large bucket of balls. 1st swing out of the box they are blasting drivers. Bet they end up hitting 90% of their balls with that one stick - then leave, walking straight past the putting/chipping greens.

Short game. having a baby doesn't leave me much time to practice. I'm just glad I can get out to play.

If my first swing was with a driver, I think I would pull 4 muscles and have to call it a day right there.

 

I tend to have to stretch for 5 minutes, and only then can I even start with some 3/4 wedges, before working my way up.
