DankNuggs 305 Posted May 16, 2017 Ed- I have 10 points now, not 2. I had 8 coming in. You didn't get the Edex Cup memo on point deductions for insubordination? Ed is going to have to dock you an additional 2 points

Cruzer 1,992 Posted May 16, 2017 The US Open ought to be really fun... The USGA has given us (yet again) another damn near tree-less, links style layout... What is it with Mike Davis and these guys, what do they have against shade? In any event, nobody will really have much insight about Erin Hills heading into it - will be a crap shoot for all. Yeah when I first heard the course and how it was a new one to big time golf and looked at the yardage I was interested. Then I read more and found out it was a total links layout. Now I like Links golf, but I also like a variety. US on a links followed by the Open on links and it just makes for lack of spice all summer. Merion is probably one of my favorite courses and only good one since Bethpage. Obviously Pinehurst is great but we see it every handful of years. Merion is easily one of my favorites if not my favorite that was an interesting set up and had personality.
listen2me 23 1,542 Posted May 16, 2017 I do like Shinnecock though and that is next year, oldy but a goody. Followed by Pebble, Winged Foot, Torry Pines, The Country Club in Mass.

Followed by Pebble, Winged Foot, Torry Pines, The Country Club in Mass.By the time we have gotten thru Shinnecock, that will be 4 link styled layouts in a row - way too many... Although I do give Shinnecock a special pass I guess - as being one of the 5 founding clubs of the USGA. And I'm thrilled as all get out that the USGA is returning to the Country Club - been way too long since it's been visited. The Country Club should be a regular staple in the rotation - always. My favorite venue for this event is still prolly Winged Foot (West).
Cruzer 1,992 Posted May 16, 2017 I've drafted 2, 8 and 9 and am in 3rd. Yea - and that's nice and all. But it's like the Lions being happy making the Wildcard, then getting bounced in the 1st.. More often than not, the guys who win events and are at the top chasing the Cup - they draft near the top and upper half.

I busted Cruzer's balls literally the day he shipped a shirt the last time we bet. The timing couldn't have been any worse, and to boot, the golf shirt he sent was top notch. Would love to do the golf shirt wager again for the US Open if anyone is interested. Last time I offered folks their team and one other team of their choosing, vs mine. Winner take all. No takers

edjr 5,567 Posted May 26, 2017 Yes, its a good thing you don't have an addictive personality because I think gambling would get you before drugs. LOL Good point. I started betting before I was out of high school. My father had to bail me out of a $400 dollar debt before I graduated. Just keep betting, you'll win it back I will say golf just isn't the same unless there is money on the line. even if it's a buck a hole, whatever it is. I can't stand playing "for fun" like all the free contests here at FFT? no thanks

edjr 5,567 Posted May 26, 2017 Been there. The dreaded, double down on Monday night football to get even for the weekend. Gambling isn't a lot of fun when you have money. Unless you risk enough to make it worth while, which makes it not worth it. Betting 20 and being scared when you're 18 is one thing. betting 2000 when you're an adult is dumb
