Instant Fantasy Analysis - RB Ameer Abdullah, Lions

Recommended Posts

Were it not for the fact that he is 5-8, 205 with fumbling issues, Abdullah likely would have been this draft third first-round running back. With that said, the second all-time leading rusher in Nebraska history has just about everything else going for him - including wonderful intangibles and gamebreaking ability. Likely most ideally suited for a lead-back role (as opposed to a feature back), Abdullah is a wonderful complement to Joique Bell on a Lions' team that is trying to become more balanced on offense. Abdullah warrants flex consideration right away in redraft leagues and belongs right behind the top three backs (Gurley, Gordon and Yeldon) and top three receivers (Cooper, White and Parker) in rookie drafts.

Love this kid. Great attitude and hard worker. Hits the hole much harder than your typical smaller RB. Will be a great compliment to Bell, and capable of starting if/when Bell goes down.

Wish my Lions took the DT Brown with their 1st, but I'm happy with this pick in the 2nd.

If he can fix the fumbling problem he should be just fine .

His fumbling issue improved every year. Love him with the Lions. Think he will be a good one

Yes he did , but there was still problems last season . I like his upside like I said , but he will need to get the fumbling problem fixed . Better won't be good enough in the Not For Long league .

Oh yeah definitely still needs to improve ball security no argument here. It's his biggest problem. Looking at the whole package though he's in a great spot with his talent and opportunity

I agree with you on the statement . He is a very good spot for his talent and opportunity.
