*** '07 Player Projections By NFL Team ***

Recommended Posts

To prepare FFTodayers for the upcoming ’07 season, starting 5/14 will post threads listing offensive players by NFL team and invite posters to attach projections to each offensive player.

Posting of just commentary on one or mutliple players, instead of projections is welcomed and encouraged as well.

Will post 3 team threads per week (2 during 4th of July week) alphabetically by team city, so will have all 32 NFL teams posted before August 1st.

Through beginning of FF season will hopefully have this thread pinned as an ‘Archives’ thread, so will have opportunity to post replies for any previous team at any time.

I have been reading alot of post about the dolphins for this coming season. And everyone seems to be forgeting the person with the biggest impact on this team. Cam Cameron! If anyone watched the games last year they would see how good brown can be. the guy fights for evey yard ,hes fast and powerful, he just was hinderd by the fact they could not throw the ball. with the big improvements to the o-line and the the new coaching staff (mullarky sshould retire) , someone to strech the field and a QB that can distribute the ball. Everyones #'s should improve. I think Cameron alone will increase R Browns #'s. I can see this team giving New England a run for thier money, even though they wont win the div.

I also think cam will use Fullbacks C. Schlesinger and rookie R. Mauia in the same rolls he did with niel in san diego. another plus for brown.

Trent Green will bring stability to the offense. I'm not sure he wins games on his own, but you know what you're going to get from him. He won't be one to take in the 4th round, but he will certainly help those around him.

Ronnie Brown - I've got mixed feelings, which is probably for him, since I was rather down on him. I don't know if he carries the full load, but he certainly has some potential. The offensive line doesn't strike me as dominant, but a consistent passing game should help him out some. He is going in the second round, and that's probably where I'll end up with him. I'll keep reading. :headbanger:

Chris Chambers - I like better than his ADP, and more than a lot of the geeks on this board, I'm thinking. I think he has been largely a victim of circumstance, but this is certainly the year to show it. He's the most talented wideout on this team, and he needs to step into that role. I think he does, I think Cameron motivates and gets him more involved again, and Chambers rebounds to a solid #2 type WR.

Marty Booker is interesting. He once was the talk of the fantasy world, but not so much since he's gone to Miami. He could be a tremendous asset to this offense, but he plays a definite second fiddle to Chambers. I think he's not as quick as he was, but his hands are good, and he makes the tough catches. He's dropping below the radar, so he's a good find late in drafts, especially if you hung yourself early by avoiding WRs.

Derek Hagan - The guy not mentioned. He needs to be considered, especially if you're in a dynasty league, as he has got some good upside. Welker leaving hurts the team, but Hagan could take away some of the pain. This year or next? Hmmm, that's the question. I think he makes an impact this year, probably cutting into Booker's stats, but also filling the catch void left by McMichael. Again, a late prospect, and will be available in a lot of leagues.

Jamie Martin - Um. Please. There are much better options, even late. I'm not a big fan. He was another of the "wait until he develops" Tight Ends that Green Bay seemed to cycle through for a while. Still waiting . . .

The defense . . . might be overrated. Yes, I said that. They were highly touted last year, as well, and they didn't do a whole lot. If you're in a performance league, they hurt bad. I'm not sure that they have upgraded that significantly since last year. Joey Porter brings energy, but he has lost a significant step or three and Pittsburgh made the right choice not to pour a ton of money into him. For where drafters are going to be looking for this defense, there are better options to be had, and you can hold off on them and get their equal a couple rounds later.

I think if Miami can provide decent pass protection for Green, then Chambers will be a huge beneficiary of it. For the time that Trent Green was in KC, did he ever get to throw to as talented a WR as Chambers? If given the time, I have a hunch Green will be looking for Chambers quite often.

Of course, that's just a hunch.

Green IS the most accurate passer the Dolphins had since Marino. This will say alot in a Cam's Offensive system.Look for Chambers and Ronnie Brown's production to go up.I also see Hagan cutting into Booker's numbers as the season goes on.Not much Fantasy value with those 2.Hagan will start picking up bigger numbers next season.I am not sold on David Martin as of yet,But who will step up in that T.E. roll that made Gates what he is today? "IF" Green can stay conscience(OL ??) The Dolphins can put 20something points on the board per game. That of course is a gr8 inprovement for this team.

I think a big name to this puzzle will be Lorenzo Booker. The guy is completely the opposite of Ronnie Brown and I think he'll be a pretty big star soon. I wouldn't be suprised if the Fins offered a solid 1-2 RB Combo soon.

The Miami D is NOT overrated from a FANTASY perspective.....

Say what you want about Ted Ginn as the 9th overall pick but the one thing few people will argue is that the kid has that same kick returning "gift" that Hester has. If you're in a league that heavily rewards defensive touchdowns (one of my leagues does) then the Phins D is an excellent later round choice.

As far as the rest of the team goes.....the majority seems to be really down on the Phins this year based on last years results...however any good FF'er evaluates a given year based on the current situation and not the past. This is almost an entirely different offense given that Trent Green is now the QB and Cam is calling the plays and running HIS offense. I can't help but have cautious optimism here...especially for Chambers and Ronnie Brown as far as this years fantasy season goes. I think both will finish in the top 10 at the respective positions this year. Also....I'm honestly starting to think Trent Green is going to make a decent #2 FF QB this season. I'm not saying you can rely on him or even consider him as your #1...but from a bye-week fill in and possible match-up play I think he's worth a late flyer pick on.

Admittedly, I am biased. I can see Lo. Booker getting 3rd down carries and picking up 20-30% of carries. He will be a valuable change up back to Brown. Brown seemed to lose steam at the end of the season.

Any passing game will allow the running game to pick up.

Dolphin fan and I honestly expect the Fins to contend for a playoff spot. You've been warned. :headbanger:

Trent Green - His ADP is somewhere in the 12th round. We're talking about a QB who threw 4,000+ yards for three straight years before his injury and averaged 23 TDs. After all these months, the concussion is pretty much meaningless as far as his playing ability, so it comes down to how much the new system is going to effect his stats. I think a conservative projection would be 3,500 yards and 19 TDs with potential for much more.

Ronnie Brown - I'm wondering if Cam Cameron is going to try to use him like LT. Lots of carries and getting him involved in the passing game. As a primary RB in in a Cameron system, Brown has tons of upside. At the very worst, he should at least break 1,400 all purpose yards and 6+ TDs. Safe pick in the 2nd round IMO.

Chris Chambers - Even though I'm a Dolphin fan, I've never liked Chambers from a FF standpoint. He's disappointed a lot of drafters over the years and always gets a pass - "his QB stinks". But nobody seems to care that a lot of other great WRs had bad QBs and yet they managed to keep putting up big stats... (hines ward among many others). Whatever. This year Chambers has a proven QB so no more excuses. Unfortunately, Trent Green's history of making big stat WRs isn't good. But that was under a different system... Gonzo is gone and Green's gonna have to learn to utilize his receivers more. I think Green is talented enough to do that and expect Chambers to be slightly better than last year, but I wouldn't hold my breath for much more.

Marty Booker - Finished 30th in my league last year. He can still make a big play from time to time (hauled in 6 TDs last year), but his big stat days are long gone. He doesn't get a lot of receptions, so he's an unreliable start, but I think he's not bad depth as 5th WR for a 14th round pick.

Miami Defense - On paper, Miami's defense actually did pretty well last year. They were 4th overall in yards allowed per game and 5th overall in points allowed per game. Those rankings are amazing considering they caught a pathetic total of 8 INTs. The secondary has some young guys back there, but with another year under their belt they might improve. The rest of the defense looked great. Old Zach Thomas god bless him is still making tons of tackles and Jason Taylor is playing strong finishing with 13.5 sacks last year. Overall, I think they're a decent pick fantasy wise.

Brown sat out 3 of the last 5 games, and finished the season with 225 rushing yards and a 5.8 ypc in the last 2 games. He certainly didnt slow down because he was overworked...it was purely due to his injury, which he came back strong from.
