Portis26 0 Posted October 22, 2005 I think the team in Texas will win. Basketball, Id go with Tech, but since we are still playing football, I'll go with Texas. BUT - these are the types of games that may make a difference in the BCS standings. Texas vs. USC - should be the national championship game - USC had its scare, will this be the scare Texas has? texasmouth 1 Posted October 22, 2005 huh... Neither will make it... Texas will get beat in the Big 12 title game and Alabama will make it... Yeah, by who? At least know a little about what you are talking about before you say something ignorant. The Big 12 north is awful. First off, Texas would more than likely be facing Colorado in the Big 12 championship, a team they destroyed last week. Second, Alabama would still have to fight off Georgia and Va Tech in the BCS to make it, won't happen. Third, Alabama has to win today first and that probably isn't going to happen, even though I will be rooting for them. I like Alabama, I just think you are letting your homerism cloud your grasp of reality.

Miller_Time_21 0 Posted October 22, 2005 Texas vs. USC - should be the national championship game - USC had its scare, will this be the scare Texas has? Texas hasn't had it's scare??? OSU had the dead to rights before Mr. Young came back to life and kicked our a$s!! I believe that would qualify as a "scare" game for texas, ask their fans, I know it had them more then worried throughout that game.

I was on the verge of cardiac arrest that whole damn game. I think it is pretty obvious now that the best team actually did win.....

texasmouth 1 Posted October 22, 2005 Young, Texas thrash Red Raiders 52-17 in Big 12 clash Vince Young and Texas turned Texas Tech's big chance into another Longhorn landslide. Young threw for two touchdowns and ran for another and No. 2 Texas handed the 10th-ranked Red Raiders their first loss of the season, 52-17 Saturday, in a victory that should do nothing but help the Longhorns in their run for the Rose Bowl. Looking to start 7-0 for the first time since 1976 and move into national title contention, the high-scoring, pass-happy Red Raiders (6-1, 3-1) couldn't keep up with Young and the Longhorns (7-0, 4-0). TEXAS 7-0! Where are you now gunsup? YOu focking pansie! You talked all that crap and now where are you? No where to be found.

Thought the game would be close. Vince Young impresses me again, what a year! Isn't this defense like top ten or something? Selvin Young even got to score, yes good going young Selvin. Stifler 2 Posted October 23, 2005 Texas should steal a couple of more 1st place votes after destroying a top 10 team by the same score USC won by against a terrible team. Again, this is Texas' year. Hook 'em
Money Ball 0 Posted October 23, 2005 But USC would have destroyed Tech also. I wouldn't give anyone any extra votes. But it is valid because Texas showed a lot. This is what we need: USC Wins out # 1 no questions Texas wins out, not so close second Va. Tech wins out and gets no shot at title. We may see even more undefeated teams??? Can the BS system finally crash due to this year?
Stifler 2 Posted October 23, 2005 USC would have to outscore Texas Tech because their defense sucks. Tech would easily hang 35+ on them. I really want a shot at USC to determine who the real #1 team is...the media darlings or Texas. Hook 'em
IAMWood 6 Posted October 23, 2005 Where are all the pink raiders? At least one ou guy showed up. Texas rolled. Vince was a little off, tech's defense was better than I expected. tech's offense was worse. Selvin Young had his best game of the year. I had been down on him until he has really showed up the last couple of weeks. HOOK 'EM

Can the BS system finally crash due to this year? Not going to happen. Va Tech will drop one some where. Georgia just lost their QB and Alabama is not good enough to win out this year. Texas and USC will be a great match up. I would love it to see Marcus Vick VS Vince Young though...... Everyone is saying that USC would blow out Texas, I don't know about that though. I think USC really sucks on defense. I think Texas would score at will on them. Texas has a far better defense than any team USC has played. ND is the only decent D they have faced and they barely won that game. I think Texas would pull off the shocker and upset the Golden Boy and his ballroom dancers. That damn Reggie Bush is just unreal though, I will give him that.
texasmouth 1 Posted October 23, 2005 Told ya TT had nothing for Texas. I don't see them being challenged at all until the Rose Bowl. You called it. What the hell is up with your Sooners? Man, that team just seems to have no heart. To lay an egg against friggin Baylor? That is sad.

VA Tech still has the ACC championship game ( i think this year is the 1st year) which may be against FSU At least one Texas team will be in the post season this year Texasmouth -
texasmouth 1 Posted October 23, 2005 I think if Miami beats Va Tech, it could cause some serious trouble too. Not for the championship game though. I just don't see Va Tech making it through all of that, if they do, they will probably knock Texas out of the #2 spot, hell, with that schedule they should knock USC out of the #1 spot! That is a fierce schedule.

texasmouth 1 Posted October 23, 2005 At least one Texas team will be in the post season this year Texasmouth - Well, The Foreskins have an easy ass game this weekend but they won't win many more. I still say 7-9, 8-8 at best for your skins.

MahSoonerz 0 Posted October 25, 2005 Told ya TT had nothing for Texas. I don't see them being challenged at all until the Rose Bowl. You called it. What the hell is up with your Sooners? Man, that team just seems to have no heart. To lay an egg against friggin Baylor? That is sad. I don't know if it's no heart as much as no cohesion or leadership on the field. On offense Adrian Peterson being out has obviously knocked a lot of wind out of the sails. Doesn't seem like we can get any passing game going without a consitent running game and with Bomar being so green. On defense the only guy I see trying to provide that leadership is Dusty Dvoracek, but considering that he has all the symptoms of roid rage before even touching the stuff, I doubt he can command much authority in the locker room. We lost most all the starters last year and the new guys just aren't ready to plug right in. I'd say this has also been a learning experience for Coach Stoops. He's just now figuring out that he expected too much from this group and has to retool game plans to match their strengths and weaknesses. Bomar does seem to get better each game, so I have some hope that most all the same guys will come back next year a bit more mature and together on the same page. Kinda like the Longhorn team of the last three years. So (in a not so veiled attempt to keep this thread from being locked, haha) what do you think of today's rumor of Mack Brown coaching the Texans next year?
