What can I say, guys, Mother Nature is a beeeotch! Big giant storms the last two nights have been knocking out power since Tuesday. The power went out here last night at 8:30 and somehow fubared the inter-net at the office.

I'm home on my lunch hour to make the pick.

Very interesting to see how different people value certain players much more than I would.

 

Very different in a dynasty too.  I don't rank the untested rook rb's like galt and ob do apparently, but that's another interesting quirk to this league.  Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm curious, besides the rook RBs are there other picks that made you scratch your head?

 

There have been a few for me, just interested in a different point of view.

There are others that made me go "hmmm" as well. I'll go into a bit more when I have time later (probably tonight). Gotta get back to work for a little bit now.

I like this pick a bit better than the Jackson pick because I think McGahee is more talented than Jackson.

 

Still, it's a pick for the future more than this year. After Jackson went I debated taking McGahee instead of Robinson because the talented backup RB gate was opened, but I decided that I didn't want to start building for next year just yet.

 

Had he made it to my 4th round slot i'd have taken him. This could wind up being a steal by the end of this season.

I believe that McGahee is a beast and right now is better than any of the rookies or anyone left on the draft board. His stats may not show it this year, but they will by next year for sure.

More dominant picks will be made to make me great this year as well as till the end of time - or until Ditka joins/quits again.

Duckett, Chambers, or the wait...?

 

I'm a hit-and-run poster at work.

 

Love Duckett who (like Barlow) has shown he can be effective in the NFL despite limited duty. I didn't want to grab Duckett since I already had Vick, but I think he's gonna have a pretty good career and especially after Dunn breaks in half and/or retires. I had one other that I thought about taking instead, but didn't.

 

Chambers was one of the few I wanted here. Young and talented and at least he's shown he's got talent even without a real QB yet. Plus he's only like 25 or 26. I was shocked that Horn nearly dropped to me. That was great value this late and I was just sitting here thinking "no way he falls to me". Oh well.

I really wanted Duckett. I know his rec. are lower than most, but he still has TREMENDOUS UPSIDE, IMO.

 

I would have been happy if Chambers would have fell to 4.04. I know both are unlikely, but ohters kept going, and going...that's why I wanted to trade up to Bernie's spot if they weren't taken.

Actually, the Foster pick I like. I was looking at him for 4.11.

 

Since wilzone has already started looking to the future, this is a stellar pick for the plan he chose.

 

Westbrook, Foster, and Jackson, and Holt might be a fearsome foursome in a year or two.

I apologize for the confusion caused by my trade with 'hoo. I thought I was sitting pretty at 4.07 with a good chance of getting Foster but when I saw Duckett go, followed by some discussions of trading up, I had a feeling Foster might go. I think I basically contacted whoisjgalt and 'hoo at the last possible moment.

 

And I'm very glad it worked out. Now I have three young, pass-catching RBs in good offenses.

OB1 - Nitpicking on the draft summary. For the 4.03 pick, it doesn't list me as the guy who took him, it just lists who traded him.

Wilzone and I discussed Foster and Jackson last evening. I like both picks. I have Foster in a couple leagues and hence I am high on him. I really like what Wilzone has done in the 3rd and 4th.
