Swagger 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Huh. Not for a second did I think you guys would jump on this point. Is it that you over-value the poor NFL defenses? Or that you under-value the smokin' college defenses? Ohio State easily had an NFL-quality defense last season and Vince young beat them last September. Just stating truth. Don't shoot the messenger. Let's no hand him the golden key just yet, they have been many college QBs that shred up defenses, but that does not translate to success in the NFL. I would give him a chance just like Aaron Rogers is getting a chance.

Ilov80s 0 Posted March 23, 2006 So we have one group saying "Vince was ok. Vince might fall to 8-12. He didn't make any hard throws". Then you have another group saying "Vince's arm is unreal. He can make all the throws." Sounds to me like a certain group is trying to downplay Vince with hopes that might slip into their arms.
t.j 35 Posted March 23, 2006 you need to stop because what you're saying is just crazy talk. Seriously. The worst defense in the NFL in the last five years is way better than Ohio State's defense was last year.

Ilov80s 0 Posted March 23, 2006 But athletic positions such as CB, S, LB, DE have very few busts. Actually DE has one of the highest bust rankings over the last 20 years.
cowboyz 2 Posted March 23, 2006 why does jay cutler get credit for swirling winds? whenever this issue comes up during the season, the conventional wisdom is always, it doesn't affect qbs.

Quickolas1 80 Posted March 23, 2006 NFL | More on Young at Pro DayWed, 22 Mar 2006 16:25:01 -0800 Charean Williams, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Texas QB Vince Young threw 55 passes with five incomplete and one drop during his Pro Day workout Wednesday, March 22. Young worked out with four wide receivers - Texas WRs David Thomas, Ahmard Hall, Brian Carter and former high school teammate and Idaho WR Daniel Smith. Young also caught one pass on a trick play. "I feel like I did a good job," said Young. "I stayed relaxed, poised and had fun. You hear so much that 'Vince is not working out. Vince is not doing this and that.' I wanted to go out and show them that I am working out." He's already quoting himself in the 3rd person. He'll be a hall of famer.

Vikings4ever 550 Posted March 24, 2006 Texans | Kubiak continues praise of V. Young Thu, 23 Mar 2006 17:42:04 -0800 Paul Kuharsky, of the Tennessean, reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak made several praises of Texas QB Vince Young's Pro Day workout. Kubiak said, "I love the guy, he's got a big arm, he was very impressive. He showed accuracy on the move, a very strong arm, he was always in control. He made every throw. He did everything you could possibly ask a quarterback to do in this situation." Kubiak's really slobbering Young's knob.

rvarnell 0 Posted March 24, 2006 Vince Young's not going to have the best arm and won't be the fastest or the smartest QB out there. But he's got intangibles that most others don't and will be a winner in the pros. I graduated from Texas A&M and have seen Vince dismantle our team three years in a row (although this last year was his worst game against us - moral victory there somewhere). He did the same thing against Ohio State, Michigan, and USC. I'm thrilled that he's leaving early b/c it will improve our chances against t.u. next year. Vince will do fine in the NFL. Its the rest of his life that I would worry about.

Most aggies I know, and I know alot, are very frustrated right now and one has even not renewed his season tickets until Fran is gone. He sent this big official letter to the AD explaining why. good times!!
