LavarIsAnAnimal 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Where do you guys seeing him being drafted? I know he's had some problems, but the guy is talented, I'd love to have him as the 3rd QB on my team. Especially if he can be drafted in one of the later rounds. He'd be great to watch during garbage time and I think he could be used in somewhat of an offensive utility position. Especially if a coach is willing to run some trick plays.
Portis26 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Fantasywise - NO but as a player who can hold for EP/FGs and use for trick plays and maybe returns - YES!!!

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon 0 Posted April 12, 2006 No way...and I'm a VT alum. He wasn't even our best QB last year. just played cause his brother was there. His field vision is TERRIBLE. His brain is TERRIBLE. He isn't close to as fast as his brother. His arm is accurate, but fairly weak. If he didn't have the off field issue, he may have gone in Rd 6-7, but with the issues you'd be crazy to pick him up. i do think he'll get an invite to some camps though. but no way he'll play QB. Deadpool 0 Posted April 12, 2006 I personally don't think he should be drafted. But that being said, he does have some talent if he ever gets his head on straight. Doesn't look like its going to happen anytime too soon. Maybe one day he will look back and figure out that he wasted what could have been a possibly decent career. Wouldn't be surprised if Denver or Oakland takes a chance on him though. No way...and I'm a VT alum. He wasn't even our best QB last year. just played cause his brother was there. LavarIsAnAnimal 0 Posted April 12, 2006 He wont get drafted Um, then why are some scouts saying he might go as high as the 4th round? No way...and I'm a VT alum. His arm is weak? Is that why his scouting reports reads, "He shows good arm strength. Gets adequate zip on the deep out-route and can make all the NFL throws." I personally don't think he should be drafted. If he gets drafted, its as a RB. You guys are really making him out to be a villain. He smoked some pot, owned a gun, let underage kids drink at a party, and kicked a guy in a football game. That sounds like your average NFL story. I think as a utility offensive player the guy has some serious upside. He could play wideout, RB or QB. Obviously no fantasy merrit whatsoever, but the guy is worth a pick. I think whatever team gets him between the 5th and 7th round will be lucky
goodwj 0 Posted April 12, 2006 no, unless you are the raiders this guy not only has one red flag hes got many people were scared of moss, and onterio smith to name a few trouble mkers, gambles on rogers. i saw his quote says enough "It's no big deal I'll just move on to the next level, baby." this guy has talent, but man i dont want him on my team

Obviously no fantasy merrit whatsoever, but the guy is worth a pick. I think whatever team gets him between the 5th and 7th round will be lucky Well, I don't think he is a villian. I just think that someone that has gotten by on the fact that he is Mike Vick's younger brother deserves to be drafted. As I stated before, had he shown some resemblence of maturity (maybe even just a little bit), I think he would have been drafted as a 2nd round or 3rd round RB. What he needs to be signed as a Rookie FA and then maybe with this chip on his shoulder, he matures and shows the world he can be better. He needs to earn respect and not expect it because his brother is Mike. I hate to see someone that has talent waste it. I want to see him mature and succeed. But we will see what happens. So to recap.... I don't think he deserves to get drafted, I don't think he is a villian, I think Denver or Oakland (based on previous draft history) probably will take a chance on him. RoadLizard 73 Posted April 12, 2006 Face it, the name "Vick" and the word "Quarterback" go together like the following words: Humanity = Charles Manson Fast = Turtle Sexy = Roseann Barr Basically Marcus Vick, Mike Vick, Dave Vick, or even Sylvester Vick all suck at Quarterback. Why even bother discussing this???

You know that Rosanne is hot You guys that think he won't be drafted, who is the 3rd QB on your favorite team? And who do you think your team should be picking up in the 6th or 7th round of the draft

Grigs Allmoon 0 Posted April 13, 2006 He isn't close to as fast as his brother. His arm is accurate, but fairly weak. Interesting... I must admit, I know little about him, but I assumed he was a Michael clone... I still have to think some team will give him a chance in the 5th-7th round. Face it, the name "Vick" and the word "Quarterback" go together like the following words: Humanity = Charles Manson Fast = Turtle Sexy = Roseann Barr Basically Marcus Vick, Mike Vick, Dave Vick, or even Sylvester Vick all suck at Quarterback. The first time this happened, I thought I was dreaming, but has anyone else noticed that if you make two posts in a row, quoting other posts this new-fangled message bored combines them into one post? Wow, it doesn't even have to be quotes, it just combines all posts. This is the 4th post in a row that has been lumped into one. Kinda cool, I guess.
Second Place Don't Pay 0 Posted April 13, 2006 I still have to think some team will give him a chance in the 5th-7th round. If I were a team in Michael Vick's division, I'd spend a late round pick on him just to run the scout team prior to weeks I play the Falcons. Who can immitate M Vick better than little bro? Portis26 0 Posted April 13, 2006 They touted this guy as the BETTER of the Vicks --- no he has a run in with the law, a bad attitude, and all of a sudden everyone doesn't think he'll be drafted SOMEONE will take chance on him - there is no doubt in my mind! ellisonb11 0 Posted April 13, 2006 he wont and shouldnt be drafted... the guys attitude wasnt just bad but he would throw for a max 120 yds each game. the guy has no chance at being a good nfl player i believe, unless u move him to some other position. Welcome back Griggs. lol They touted this guy as the BETTER of the Vicks --- no he has a run in with the law, a bad attitude, and all of a sudden everyone doesn't think he'll be drafted SOMEONE will take chance on him - there is no doubt in my mind! I agree - somone will draft him. And I think that's a shame. He's a no class low rent doushebag Didn't he decide he'd rather sit on the couch and play X-Box when he messed up the 1st time? Then he was on "double secret probation" when he got caught AGAIN for DUI and weed. Uh, but the school didn't kick him out. Then they acted all shocked when he ground his foot into that defenseman's leg - that was one of the worst displays of poor sportsmanship I've ever witnessed. No team with any semblance of pride should draft him.
RoadLizard 73 Posted April 13, 2006 Michael Vick sucks? Have you confirmed this with opposing defensive coordinators? No need to, he only scares them on paper and because of the occassional big run. He couldnt beat a division 3 team with his arm and the whole world knows this. Look how AWFUL he has looked when the Falcons actually have to call on his QB skills. They just dont exist. Against the Lambs, 49ers and such he'll look like a monster out there. Against quality opponents when the Falcons have to throw or at least show some type of passing threat he'll look incredibly terrible. The team wins in spite of him not because of him. They get a big lead at Home against a sub .500 opponent and then he runs around for a half an hour for a TD. Yeah.... . Watch him the next time has to perform a two-minute drill..... freeking hilarious.....

Ignition Technition 0 Posted May 1, 2006 In a collective shrug that probably surprised Marcus “New Mexico” Vick and no one else, the Virginia Tech quarterback/gun-brandishing Happy Meal-orderer went undrafted in seven rounds yesterday. Some say it might have been his lack of arm strength, some say it might have been a lack of experience and some say it might have been, you know, his tendencies to shove guns in the faces of teenagers. Could be that. Vick, however, is undaunted. “I’m gonna show you in the future,” he said. “The teams that don’t pick me, I’m gonna get the chance to play you, and you are going to be sitting up in the box saying, ‘Damn, we should have considered him. We should have taken him.’ “ Considering the teams that didn’t pick New Mexico include “all of them,” we assume he’s talking about Arena Football. http://www.deadspin.com/sports/nfl/new-mex...-nfl-170667.php

Kinda cool, I guess. yes, michael vick sucks. he cant throw worth shiat, cant read a defense, and worse of all, has no desire to do so. even a few weeks ago he said "I just want to be mobile this year, be Mike Vick and play my game" (i.e. i'm too dumb to learn the WCO, and will continue to just rely on my god given talents, and wont even bother trying to improve my game). and defenses do know how to play him now. here's the well known secret: put a linebacker at a spy position and keep the DE's at bay, the DE's dont overpersue him for the sack, they just play the lanes and wait for him to either run to you or keep him running towards the sidelines. keep him in the backfield and make him throw the ball. also, just keep tight coverage on crumpler. when defenses do this, Vick does jack shiat and loses the game. HE CANT THROW THE BALL! its funny how if mike vick ran a 4.7 instead of a 4.3, he would be on the way out of the league already. I'm no vick hater, he is exciting to watch, but it just burns me how a guy as talented as he is makes absolutely no attempt to better his game in anyway. just watch some tape of him his rookie year and him today. there is absolutely no difference in his performance and game decisions. when players like mcnabb and came into the league and were labeled "scrambling qb" he did everything he could to improve his passing game to shed that label (and he was successful in doing do) now he's more effective as a pass first, run if no one is open qb. vick should figure it out tat if he wants to be successful in this league, he's gotta do the same
