MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Lions draft CB Jimmy Williams, who promptly stabs the Burger King ~40~ times at the after-draft party at Denny's, because he's afraid the King will wake up next to him later that morning. That is my prediction.

DrJ 0 Posted April 26, 2006 call him whatever you want, j and after you do, check back in to the original thread. Either way, it's impossible to label a 3rd round pick the bust of the draft before the Lions have even made their 1st rounder. With Suckington, Druggie, and Lazy Fatso to his credit, it's pretty hard to imagine Millen not topping the Manning blunder. Probably multiple times before the day is through. MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 26, 2006 The Lions select Marcus Vick in the 3rd round and Elvis Dumervil in the 4th. Both are shot dead while looting during the riots after the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup.

Both are shot dead while looting during the riots after the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup. Stanley Cup? What's that? Oooooooh, you must mean that sport that didn't have a season last year because millionaire owners and millionaire players couldn't come to terms on their mutual greed and ended up screwing the fans and everyone who depended on them to make a living....fock Hockey. Sho Nuff 720 Posted April 26, 2006 you a bear fan? figured you'd convert after one bad year by the packers apparently it does for you. that's the inexplicable part. hence, my advice to locate some happy medication somewhere. Nope...but unlike you I know what it is like to be a fan of a team that wins more than it loses for the most part. The inexplicable part is that you think anyone making fun of the lions is angry...too funny. packers, definitely. last 5-slot pick was terrell buckley. i have a feeling a lot of packer fans are going to be doing a after pick 1.5 saturday. Because what they did that long ago is really relevant to today...

Hagy34 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Vikes miss a pick? Millen takes another WR? There have been some classic draft day blunders - make your prediction for the 2006 NFL draft... Miss a pick and take one of the better DT's in the league. Sounds ok to me.

DrJ 0 Posted April 26, 2006 and to think millen gets all the grief on this board Maybe because Browns fans don't talk a lot of crap in the offseason, disappear to tuck in their son midseason, and welch on all of their bets. They actually allow people to have some pity for them.

football_scooter 0 Posted April 27, 2006 FWIW, Nolan just said yesterday that he has no interest in making deals with his 1.06 or 1.22 picks and expects/intends to use them both to fill needs. Should be interesting, to say the least. Count me as happy to hear this - and it means one less chance to botch it for the Niners. either that or two more chances, depending on how you look at it. I read an article yesterday that said Nolan intends on staying at 6, but there were not quotes and no mention of 22 beyond saying he hopes to find two starters. The article ended with McLoughan believing once a QB fell, the phones would be going crazy and he seemed to insinuate he would take calls. It would be smart after all. Wait... easy to find-- Article here The headline says one thing, but the article isn't quite so certain.

My ears were not deceiving me, so I tend to look past anything that contradicts what the coach actually said. why would I? FWIW, that article is from Tuesday, and I heard Nolan on Wednesday. ETA, what is interesting in that article is that Nolan did say that if there's an option there that someone else is hot for (Leinart falling to 6 or something I assume) then he'd be willing to hear offers. I like what he said about Davis and whether they'd be overpaying him....basically that it depends on how you use him. If you use him primarily as a blocker, then yes - but if you use him as TGonz is used, then he's a solid value as he'll produce like a top 6 pick.

My ears were not deceiving me, so I tend to look past anything that contradicts what the coach actually said. why would I? FWIW, that article is from Tuesday, and I heard Nolan on Wednesday. Even the article makes it sound like Nolan is content with both picks and has no desire to trade up or down. But, man McCloughan has done some fine work in GB and Seattle. If a QB falls and the phones start ringing, maybe Nolan should let the HR guy do his thing? I'm not going to invent scenarios as examples, but what if they could still get one of their top guys, and another pick, just by letting some desperate team fly in front of Oakland for a QB? "My gut tells me once one or two of these players starts to slide a little bit, teams might come flying up there for them, especially a quarterback," McCloughan said. "I have not seen a top 10 this sporadic, this late in the process of the draft. ... Some of the things that I am hearing form the agents blows my mind. It is just a very unique year." It is the most uncertain top of a draft in over a decade. Just nuts.
