Gepetto 1,367 Posted May 8, 2006 10 team redraft league. I'm hoping I can draft in the top 3 (SA, LJ, or LT) or at least 4-6 (Portis, Tiki, Edge), but what about pick 7. If I end up with pick 7 I might take Peyton Manning. If I pick 8th I might take a top WR, like TO. What about Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Torry Holt, or Randy Moss?? Running back: Rudi, S. Jax, Lamont, Ronnie, Caddy?? Or maybe even Antonio Gates. At least with Gates or Manning, you know you have likely the top player at their position and then you don't have to worry about filling QB or TE later. I really don't like any running backs at 7, but I might take Ronnie Brown or Caddillac based on potential.

ellisonb11 0 Posted May 8, 2006 yea i would definately take a stud rb here. you could get a stuf wr on the way back. lamont, rudi, or s-jax maybe if hes there.
football_scooter 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Fantasy Draft pick #7, who do you take??? I take a lethal dose of something to end the pain. Seriously though - your pain is curbed in that this is a 10 team league. Were this a 12 team or greater it would be a harder call since there'd be more time between picks. I think you will be fine - Edge may slip. If not, there's RuJohnson, Caddy, RBrown, SJax - all of whom should do fine as a RB1, since your return pick is only 6 away and you'll likely be able to pair him with an Owens, CJohnson, JLewis, etc.
Nichee 0 Posted May 9, 2006 What's the scoring system?
ellisonb11 0 Posted May 9, 2006 i just did a mock at pick #7....i ended up with Rudi, and i was ....i got lamont on the way back in a 10 man mock draft...its actually not to bad of a spot.
Drews Crew 0 Posted May 9, 2006 I would take Rudi, then on the way back take Chad J, or any other top WR. Don't take a Qb until much later, even if Tds are worth 6 pts each, dont waste your pick. Gates + Rivers = ???
NJJoe20 0 Posted May 9, 2006 I'd go with Ronnie Brown...I think this is the first of many 300+ carry seasons for him. Can't go wrong with Johnson, Jackson, or Williams.
Gepetto 1,367 Posted May 9, 2006 What's the scoring system? 1 pt per 10 yards rushing 1 pt per 10 yards receiving 1 pt per 25 yards passing 6 pts for a rushing td 6 pts for a receiving td 4 pts for a passing td -1 pt for an interception No additional pts for long plays
ratbastard1 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Wow, theres alot to chose from! You are going to get 2 really good RBs unlike some of your other teams who will have one really good RB and one with more ?'s. RB, RB I like Ronnie and Caddy but you should pick your favorite and then pick the good RB that falls to your next pick, with your 3rd pick pick best available, your RBs available might be too thin at pick 3 for your #2 in a 10 team. The scoring system makes the decision a bit easier. I concur with most of the others. I’d take a back, Rudi sounds good. Then all the options are there for you in round 2. Another back? Sure. A great WR? Sure. A QB you don’t think should still be there? If that’s your taste. But if you take WR or QB here, you are basically mandating you’re going to take a RB in round 2. Might as well take the one you like the best in the first round.
Gepetto 1,367 Posted May 9, 2006 This is actually just a hypothetical, "If" I or you get pick 7. I think I'll strongly consider Ronnie Brown if I pick at then end of the 1st round. I really want T.O. on my team. He's stats are off the charts for the last few years (when he plays) and I'm a Cowboys fan. I don't know if I should grab T.O. in the first round though or if he might still be there in the second. Or if R. Brown or Caddy would be in the second. I'm also considering R.Brown and Caddy in the first two rounds, but don't know which one we'll be there in the second round. Maybe pick 9 or 10 aren't so bad. PLENTY of time to wait and see how rankings come out in August though. I'll have to keep an eye on mock drafts. Antsports seems to be the best one, or only one I really know of. And, listen to this in my league the draft isn't a true wrap-around, the third round is the same order as the second. For example, person with pick 1.1, also picks 2.10 and 3.10. Person with pick 1.10, also picks 2.01 and 3.01. We do this to avoid to big of an advantage to persons who draw the highest pick.

Gepetto 1,367 Posted May 9, 2006 If Manning is there - take him. w/o edge he will be a monster. That's how I have it, P. Manning ranked 7th, and I have T.O. 8th. I could still end up with Ronnie Brown or Caddy in the 2nd or even 3rd round in some mock drafts. Only thing is I like to have a pretty good idea of who is available in each round and organize my entire draft accordingly. Thing is even if I take P. Manning or T.O. in the first I could still get at least a few of the players I like. 5th and 6th round should have a few very good QBs to choose from. And I like at least two receivers in rounds 3 & 4 and they could even drop to 4 & 5. I shouldn't do this, but I might just take T.O. if I pick late in the first round (but I don't know if I could take him ahead of Manning or one of the top 6 running backs if any fell). I'm ready for some football, now!!

bgard72 10 Posted May 10, 2006 Guys....what about Dominick Davis? I think he'l be primed to show the world why Houston passed on Bush. He's got to be motivated to have a great year. I only worry about his health...he seems to get banged up a bit over the course of the year. What do you guys think at where he should be drafted?
