I HATE POKER :effingpisttt:

Recommended Posts

Had the weekly game - one guy grabbed the chip lead early, but didn't use the "force" to his advantage. Passive betting, hanging onto his chips like grim death. Was down to about $600 and doubled up twice, effectively ruining his evening and chopped him down over the next hour.

Not bad since all night I get next to nothing as far as hole cards - had a pocket pair ONCE - JJ's, flopped the set on the river and ended up losing anyway to a freaking full house. The rest of the night my hole cards were garbage. 5 3, 7 2 , 9 4 , J (and insert any low numerical card - had that about 12 times)

So, went heads-up and was at a 30% to 70% chip disadvantage. Went up, evened out, then was down just a bit - here is the last hand.

Get get a monstah, Kc Ks ... I am in the small blind. Blinds are $1000/$2000 at this point. I didn't want to go all in, as I scared him out twice before, I figured I would raise, and see where that led. So I raise $3000. HE calls. Flop is nothing special, 3 numerical cards, but all are spades. I check. In hindsight, a mistake, but I would soon find out he wasn't going anywhere. He goes all in - I have top pair, a flush draw with the Ks - I call.... He turns over As Js. The prack flops the flush - and the highest flush at dat. Running kennys aint coming. I'm cooked.

 FOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I hate poker.

But I'll be back.

I hate heads up play - any pointers would be appreciated.

I also used to hate heads up play. IMO, the key with heads up is to be agressive. It's hard to hit a flop, so even if you're missing every flop, chances are that your opponent is too. If he checks to you, make sure you don't let him see a free card. Most of the time, he'll fold. If he just calls, it's time to try to read what you think he has. If you believe you're beat, check down. If not, keep betting it. Position is huge in a heads up game. Make sure that you use position to your advantage.

Other than that, I can't really offer much. Good luck to ya.

He had been playing tight all night and when he went all in with a club flush board, you called? Hrm.... Probably not the best call in the world.

I see what you're saying, but he was probably thinking like this.

"He called my raise, so he probably has a couple high cards. The chances or him having hit the flush on the flop are really slim. Also, even if he has hit the flush, I probably have 9 spade outs with my King of spades."

I'm just guessing, but that could be his train of though.

How can you lose with a set of Js to a full house. Wouldn't you also have a full house?

Maybe the guy had a higher set?

Go all in, don't call all in unless you got the nuts.

Ok, but man it is hard to dump pocket kings, but you make sense.

Nah, he tends to play loose - I tend to play the opposite. In heads up, that is terrible and I know it. Of course, I don't EVAH realize that at the table when it is one on one.

He had the fourth Jack and a higher boat.

Yes, the FOURTH JACK..

On tilt I was.

I'm playing poker tonight with some friends.

Unfortunatley, one of them always brings his butt ugly annoying wife. She likes to play a bunch of Mickey Mouse type games that I can't stand... 7 card no-peek, pass the trash, you name it. I always get up and walk away from the table while that happens. Her games usually take about 20+ minutes, or have no raising or folding, or you can't look at your own f'n cards.

Did I mention how ugly the b*tch is?

You say you had pocket pairs once with JJ and then you proceed to tell us about a hand in which you had pocket kings.

If your friend doesn't have the balls to tell his wife to stay home and do the dishes like a b!tch is supposed to then stop telling your h0m0 friends with no scrotum when your having a poker game.

Yes, the FOURTH JACK.. :P

On tilt I was.

So that would mean that you had a full house as well??? If he had the 4th jack, there had to be a pair on the board, had to be Q's, K's or A's and he had one of those high cards in his hand. You stayed in even though you said you didn't get the set till the river, not the best playing in my opinion. Over cards and a pair on the board, I assume the other guy was betting, probably should've been out long before. So what did you lose to A's over J's, K's over J's, or Q's over J's????? And also how didn't either you or the other guy go all in with full houses that large???? Unless he was short stacked and you doubled him up.

ETA: Other guy's J kicker must have matched up at some point. :P

Uh yeah, it matched up to the jack on the river, Woble had the other 2 in his hand, that makes 4, his opponent needed to make a set with the other card in his hand. Either it's a bull story or Woble didn't play the hand very well.
