ShaneFalco 0 Posted June 21, 2006 yeah, brown was one of the WRs i was considering if he fell... but i think he'll settle in at around like 900/6 this year. there are three others left that i have above him. I can think of two right off the bat... I'm hoping one of them makes it back to me but i doubt it.

Da Bomb 0 Posted June 21, 2006 anybody seen DZ today? I'm ready to make my pick but much will depend on what he does. go go go!!! has anyone seen fumbleweed at all today? it just struck me that i havent seen him around at all. looks like he last posted around 830 this morning. 8.09 - QB Aaron Brooks, OAK
NAn 39 Posted June 21, 2006 Knew when I saw DZ had no qb that he'd take Warner, who I like this year, but more as a b/up b/c of injury concern. Guy could blow up so worth the pick. Didn't want to take Brooks till 9th but Fumble/King/Bomb have been raping me of almost picks all draft and didn't want it to happen again. Bit of a gamble but feel other 2 guys I wanted to take here will be there in 9 <crossing fingers>. Brooks/Warner are the two guys I think could put up top 5-7 numbers that I referred to in our Drew/Jake debate bomb. And if they don't...I intended to pick them as my b/ups anyway. FantasyKing 4 Posted June 21, 2006 Good pick with Glenn - he's one of the guys I was looking out from a trio of WRs, glad to still get Muhammad - one of the few #1 WRs left, I think a year under his belt with the Bears and improvement of Grossman/Griese will help his numbers quite a bit. I'm outta here for a while, I haven't seen Fumble all day - who can I send my pick to? I'm pretty positive that Fumble will not take my guy.
NAn 39 Posted June 21, 2006 Re: Brooks Prior to last year, Brooks was ranked top 5-8 amongst qbs. With all that went on in NO that's not all on Brooks and even so, if you projected his numbers over a full season he would have been top8 again. Brooks has had career highs of 3800yds and 27tds, and though I feel improved, defense will still have growing pains...could see those numbers or close to it this year. He's shown he could do it with Horn, he'll be more than capable with Moss (not to mention other quality recieving options in Oakland).
Da Bomb 0 Posted June 21, 2006 yeah, rest assured that brooks wouldnt have been there at your next pick. you knew i would take him with one of mine, which is why i knew you would take him with yours.
Erb047 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Whats everyones take on Barlow there? Tried to find some news but couldnt really find too much on his situation.
FantasyKing 4 Posted June 21, 2006 Bomb - YGM Let me know if you get it, I'll try to stick around to make sure you got it.
NAn 39 Posted June 21, 2006 LOL, take it you don't like Brooks pick Bomb? I know value is more like 9th/10th but... -again, you 3 have been raping picks from me and didn't want it to happen again (though sounds like I didn't have to worry about you picking him), and feel my 2 other guys would be there in 9...so essentially a 9th rnd pick for me. -look at the ADPs for some of the players that have gone...many are going earlier than their ADP. I account that to the no def thing (though that's a small portion), but more to the quality of the drafting and players just not falling...so folks are getting who they want when they can. yeah, rest assured that brooks wouldnt have been there at your next pick. you knew i would take him with one of mine, which is why i knew you would take him with yours. that you actually like the pick (I thought I remembered that from before, which was why I was confused) that your behind me, but predicting what I'm going to do and using it to your advantage. LOL, again that's why this has become like a long standing league...start to recognize how other drafters draft/who they like.
FantasyKing 4 Posted June 21, 2006 Well I haven't got a confirmation yet from Bomb and I don't have time to stick around so I'm putting my pick here. Fumbleweed if you are reading this and have not picked - DO NOT LOOK! Jake Plummer - if you take a 3rd QB here Fumble I will hunt you down.
Da Bomb 0 Posted June 21, 2006 sorry, i got the email but just saw this. if someone else sees this, put in FK's pick for him after fumble (so i can put my pick in after that). Good pick with Glenn - he's one of the guys I was looking out from a trio of WRs, glad to still get Muhammad - one of the few #1 WRs left, I think a year under his belt with the Bears and improvement of Grossman/Griese will help his numbers quite a bit. yeah, happy to get glenn. i had 3 WRs pretty close there, but glenn was highest. teams will have a hard time covering him single coverage opposite TO. also, glenn had 7 games last year where he was a good fantasy player (9+ points at WR). also, if anything happens with TO, then glenn becomes bledsoe's top target. one of my other three was muhsin muhammad, and i like him as well, but i can see many games this year where chicago will just suck passing, and muhammad will do little or nothing. he had only 3 or 4 such "good games" last year. my third choice is still there, and would make a very nice backup WR. i will have to make a tough choice here between that and a backup QB. that you actually like the pick (I thought I remembered that from before, which was why I was confused) that your behind me, but predicting what I'm going to do and using it to your advantage. LOL, again that's why this has become like a long standing league...start to recognize how other drafters draft/who they like. yeah, liked the pick just fine. when i took vick's risk on at 7.3, i did so knowing i could also take brooks or Mr. Guy-Who-I'm-Going-to-Take also here at 9.3, both of whom i have basically equal in points to vick, and have good depth / guys to use with matchups. im actually happier getting the other guy, just because im sure he'll play all the games, while brooks could end up getting pulled for walter eventually once oakland realizes they suck again, and i need a backup who will play all season since i have vick. brooks is just another one of those guys who probably wont be a fantasy stud but will be just as decent as about 10 other QBs after the top few. this is definitely the year to wait, imo. Miller_Time_21 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Is it just me or are the WR's being drafted in the 7th-9th rd range all very similar and just a matter of preference. I see no seperation in these guys at all, dime a dozen comes to mind. One or two will break out from this group, but it's any ones guess as to who.
Da Bomb 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Is it just me or are the WR's being drafted in the 7th-9th rd range all very similar and just a matter of preference. I see no seperation in these guys at all, dime a dozen comes to mind. One or two will break out from this group, but it's any ones guess as to who. honestly, thats pretty close to how i see the entire pool from about middle of the 4th until the 8th or 9th. theres a few guys in there i like as a bit more consistent, like derrick mason, and then just a bunch of really similar guys. thats why i'll take a top 10 WR if i can get one and then just wait around and take them whenever theres not value at another position i want. i see thats what fumble is doing too, only WAY to the max. he has only rod smith and jerry porter through the first 120 picks of the draft at WR. im not quite buying into the pick-a-WR-any-WR strategy as much as him, but its mostly true. i have evans and glenn as my WR2 and WR3 -- really two WR3s. im happy enough with it, cuz they both have a good shot at breaking 1000 and at 6+ TDs, along with another 20 WRs i couldve had instead. im happy that i have strength at TE (my #2), QB (the platoon i posted), and RB (tomlinson plus two other guys in my top 15). plus harrison as my top WR. i can handle taking the crapshoot at WR2 and WR3 with the rest of that lineup. because the truth is, except for the couple teams who nabbed two top ten WRs up top, my WRs are going to be as strong as anyone else's, and i'll probably be stronger at other positions. Erb047 0 Posted June 21, 2006 anyone know where NAn is? I wouldve liked to have gotten another round in today, but Ive only got another hour left to make picks, then i gotta shoot an email out.

NAn 39 Posted June 21, 2006 Stallworth Nice pick, agree with your 10% and even if he holds serve stats wise, solid pick. Clayton Just can't see Galloway repeating last year and could be nice bounce back yr for Clayton...nice value Cooley Like him alot this year Maroney/Green/Barlow Solid picks here Reggie Brown Not high on the kid, #1 or not...it's the same old story before TO came along and now Mcnabb himself isin question. Saw others I'd prefer here Warner Like him, just not sure as a #1 Glenn Here I go again...3 of 10 seasons with 1000+, not a believer. He had 60recs/Key 70/other wrs 25, while Bledspe had , just about his career avg in completions. But you see a big yr from TO...I'd say that's 80-85recs...so TO is going to absorb Key's recs and 15 more from Glenn but is going to have a similiar/better year? Muhsin Feel like a round early Barber2 Not sold on JJ, but since you have him, Barber makes sense and solid value here.
