Tell me why I'm wrong

Recommended Posts

12 team league

6 pt for all TDs

1 pt for 5 rec

1 pt for 25 rush/rec yds

1 pt for 50 pass yds

Big 3, Manning and Portis are gone.

I am taking Ronnie Brown.

I can make a case for Rudi being a safer pick in my spot.... but the upside w/ Ronnie is really attractive.

Any reason not to go with my gut? I'm listening!

Depends on how big that gut of yours really is

I like LJordan here...catches passes, will have easier time this year with the not-so-statue-like Aaron Brooks there. But Brown is a good pick too, although Tiki is hard to pass up because of his versitility.

I don't think you are wrong at all. I like Brown a lot. I won't know my draft position unitl Aug 30 but I would consider taking Ronnie Brown anywhere from 4-12, especially since we are switching to a PPR league. :)

I will not, because you are not.

I like Tiki and Edge over ROnnie Brown, mainly because I still feel like Brown is still unproven.

In a redraft with that scoring format, Tiki should most likely be the next pick. Although Brown isn't a crazy choice at that spot, I still like Tiki right there.

OLine is average at best. Admittedly i haven't seen him play that much, but from what I did see of him... I wasn't too terribly impressed. He just didn't seem to have much explosiveness or vision.

Edge has gone to the desert, the graveyard for NFL players. RIP

I disagree. With Alex Gibbs out of the coaching biz, Hudson Houck is the best o-line coach in the league. They've got some talent on the line, and he may be able to coach them into a better-than-average performance this year.

I think Brown's a reach there but if you really like him, trade down. I'm sure a lot of owners would deal for that spot to grab Tiki or Edge.

But keep in mind that we don't know how Brown will do with a full season's workload or what the QB situation will be. There are a lot of question marks in Maimi right now. Too many to anoint Ronnie Brown the #4 RB in this year's draft.

I usually like to be a bit more conservative with my first few picks but nowhere is it proven that Brown can't / won't cash in on his potential this year and be the better back. If it feels right, do it. At least if it were to not work out you'd probably have an easier time with the fact it's what you wanted rather then what you weren't sure you wanted.

Don't know if I agree with you - Edge and Warner are both high on my list...

Yeah, I think Edge will still have a decent year over all. Not the same as last year but...

To me, Warner looks like a safer bet as a 2nd QB who may prove to have better numbers than the first. He's just so slow and brittle (for lack of a better word) playing behind an O-line that allowed 45 sacks last year. Having Edge on the field will make defenses more honest and slow the pass rush some in addition to the fact he's a very good blocker but available QB's who are consistent get a bit thin after the round Warner probably goes in. So either way Warner comes at a price. Either use two picks within the first 8-9 rounds on QB's or risk having Warner go down and start a back up QB who may be somewhat less consistent in yards and TD's.

I have to agree here. Reaching in the first round can sink your team fast. Just ask KJ owners from last year. Either move down or take the safer pick.

Plus I would not be crazy about a RB who has a QB who tore three ligaments in his knee 9 months ago.

Couple notes: This is the 6th pick of the 1st round -- 5th RB taken.

If I can trade down I intend to. So far nobody has been biting.

Very much agree with the idea that RB reaches are the fastest track to a frustrating season... but that's what is so frustrating about this pick. I feel like Lamont, Rudi, Tiki, Steven Jackson, Edge and Ronnie are all about the same amount of reach, for different reasons.

Tiki is the safest for yardage here. TDs I am not sold at all that he's even in the same class as the guys I just listed this year.

Rudi is the safest for TDs here... although until I feel safer about Carson Palmer being healthy... I won't feel totally safe w/ Rudi.

In other words, I feel like anybody I take in the first round at the 6 hole is a bit of a reach. So -- unless I can move down, I'm sticking to my guns.

I would go with Jordan here because I feel he is a safer pick. If you like Brown I would go with him, in the end it is your team and I haven't seen anything here to prove you wrong. This tier of RB is so close that everyone will be picking with their gut. I would rather go with my gut than someone elses.

They've never had a RB this good in their franchise history (Emmitt doesn't count as he was very much past his prime when he joined them). I'm curious to see the Cards with their new indoor stadium this season.
