Cmart's backup

Recommended Posts

Why should the jets change their ways now? Always put a non producing injury prone loser ahead of the healthy ones each year. Cedric may not have put up killer stats but i'd say the same for C-mart last year too before injury. Houston gets the nod over Blaylock in my book.

nope

Blaylock has been taking the 1st team reps while Martin isn't practicing

Nope. Houston got 70% of the 1st team reps yesterday. Blaylock looked slow and may still be nursing the foot injury. He and Washington split about 15% of first team reps, Washington looked quicker and more explosive.

Word is that Houston dropped weight.
Yea heard that also and maybe the weight was why he was slow and unimpressive last year so we should see. Right now though its Blaylocks job to lose.

Cedric Houston, recovered from a broken wrist, is expected to work with New York's first team offense with Curtis Martin hurt.

This could provide some clarity to the Jets' running back situation. If Martin struggles to get 100% this season, Houston appears to be ahead of Derrick Blaylock and rookie Leon Washington in line for carries. The other two may compete for passing down duties. Newark Star Ledger

Expect Blaylock to begin the season as Martin's primary backup. However, should Martin go down, I wouldn't be surprised to see Houston emerge as the lead back. He's bigger and can take more of a pounding carrying the load, while Blaylock is more of a scatback.

My guess is that none of the Jets RB's impress this season, and they pursue a new one in the offseason either via free agency or the draft.

Anybody knw the truth?

:(

I gave you the truth in the midst of a bunch of lies.

It's a camp battle. Houston is getting most of the work with the first team. That's all that is certain at the moment.
