With Portis injured and TO making a mockery of Dallas

Recommended Posts

Washington's lone offensive weapon is injured and TO is making a mockery of Dallas' training camp - did you see him wearing a bicycle helmet and bicycle team jersey riding the stationary bike  all the while Parcells and Jones crying that TO needs to be practicing, even if he really is injured - the division is coming down to the Eagles and the Giants.

Should be a battle

Dallas did just fine last year without TO. Don't see how he's going to cause them to crash and burn.

Did you watch Dallas hand the Seahawks their @sses Saturday night, with only Romo the homo at QB and a bunch of reject WR's? Dallas is loaded on defense this season, and their O-Line played better then I ever thought they would.

Right now TO is trying to see how much he can get away with. Parcells has to kick him in the butt right now. TO is currently a major distraction for the entire Cowboy team and he could cause them to crash and burn just like he did with the Eagles last year.

Kind of odd that Bledsoe didn't see any action. Was his arthritis acting up that bad? Not good.

Did you see his antics with the bicycle helmet and jersey? He's making a mockery of Parcells, Jones and the team, and all they could come back with is, "TO is going to have to practice through the pain". ;)

The NFC East is already a two team race?

Is this the official overreact to the preseason thread?

No, the over-reaction began when people thought it would be a four team race to begin with. ;)

Yup...whenever someone included the Eagles in the talk.

And you point to the Eagles last year as far as what TO did...what about his first year there? Oh yeah...I think they were fine.

This board does seem to over react to preseason games. I like to have my rankings set before preseason and then only pay attention to injuries and changes in the depth charts.

Eagles are still cream of the crop in the division.

TO didn't start any problems that year, unlike he is already doing in Dallas. And yes, the Eagles had way more problems than TO, mainly the injuries, but TO was a distraction before the season began, just like he is now. And that doesn't bode well at all.

Ok now wait just one minute? Did I miss something? Has TO really done anything other than hold himself out due to "injury" ? Seriously, what else has he done. He hasn't pimp slapped Bledsoe or called him gay. he hasn't bucked the system. He simply hasn't practiced?

I am not and never have been a TO fan. I am not a Dallas fan. As I see it Dallas & New York have the best chance to win the division and the Redskins aren't going to be bad either. If there was a 5th place in the division that's where Philly would be.

Way too much TO hate around here. When the man does something that merits a "He's ruining the Dallas team" comment then let him have it, but until then fockin get over it.

Everyone and their mother knows his injury is BS and he's not practicing because he feels he doesn't need to. This already causes dissent in the locker room and besides that, he's making a mockery of the whole situation with his bicycle get-up, so in effect he is pimp-slapping Parcells.

Still cream of the crop?

Basement of the division is the cream of the crop? While 2 other teams made the playoffs?

Starting problems? According to you. TO acting up a bit and being injurred (no matter how fake you think it is)...is not quite the same.

Just admit you are extremely biased because of what happened in Philly and really have not one bit of objectivity as far as this situation is concerned...and all will be well.

Do you have any single linke to any dissent being caused in the locker room?

Or anything credible that the injury is fake?

Owens Still Won't Practice With Cowboys

By Scott Bomboy , Managing Editor, NBC10.com

In Dallas, there are more rumblings about former Eagles receiver Terrell Owens.

Profootballtalk.com unearthed this tidbit from Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones, who now thinks that Owens should practice while recovering from an alleged hamstring injury:

"As he goes into his career, if (Owens) can step out there and go at 75 or 80 percent, that could be real productive, but he only knows one way," Jones told reporters. "I visited with some of (Owens') medical people, and he has recognized that would be good for him, but he can't do it."

Jones Wants Owens Back On Field

The interpretation is that Owens is using his training staff to speak to owner Jerry Jones, who then passes the message on to coach Bill Parcells.

However, Parcells is using Jerry Jones to send T.O. this message - Get you butt back on the practice field.

In the days before Owens hurt his hamstring, he couldn't click with quarterback Drew Bledsoe on the practice field.

Note this AP item written on August 2 about Owens first practice drills with Bledsoe:

"After the deep ball that didn't come close in a drill without defenders, the pass that was underthrown in double coverage and the one that went high, wide and out of bounds, Drew Bledsoe must have sensed frustration rising in Terrell Owens."

Ironically, on August 3rd the Cowboys said Owens suffered the hamstring injury at that very practice. An MRI two days later didn't reveal a tear or any visible damage to the hamstring.

Owens has now skipped team practice for the past 12 days, bringing in his own training staff and his hyperbaric chamber. Owens also didn't make the trip from California to Seattle for the Cowboys' preseason game last Saturday night.

He was so injured he couldn't travel with the team?

Or anything credible that the injury is fake?

See story just posted. HTH!

You have anything to refute that and indicate the injury is real?

Or is he perhaps a player that Cowboy haters WANT to be a distraction, so any time he so much as even turns his head, you've got some bitter idiot going "Ahh--Ahh...did you see that? He turned his head. That's gonna be trouble for Dallas...."

I am a Browns fan and I think TO will be off the team by week 6. The guy has been a problem everywhere he has been. He has not learned anything and never will. History will repeat itself sooner than later IMO. Parcells and TO = one bad cocktail.

emmitt & deion didn't do much during preseason camps either - somehow we still managed to win sb's. this is a non-story, pretty sad this is what you're wacking your pud to - but enjoy i guess. :D

All he is doing is not practicing??? You sound like Alan Iverson. If you think this isn't a distaraction to the players you are wrong. Right now you have a guy who never played a down as a Cowboy and is not practicing causing more commotion than the rest of the team combined. TO creates a circus atmosphere around him and that does not mix with a professional football training camp. At this point the player must be focused on football.

The Philadephia Eagles will never win the Superbowl.

This is a true statement. Philadelphia is a toilet with a turd team.

Dallas will spank them badly this year. Bobby Carpenter will snap Westbrook in two.

Bingo. :D

And the original point of this thread isn't to diss TO, I'm just saying with their problems they can't be considered for the division right now.

it may turn out that TO is a distraction and is a cancer and everthing else that all say he is. but he for sure isn't a major problem right now. i still say our offensive line is going to be more of an issue than his antics. if they don't get it together, nothing else matters.

that's ridiculous, this talent in the division is as similar as it has been in years. the same could be said for the iggles offense. the division is wide open to all 4 teams.

I don't think he'll be kicked off the team ala the Eagles, but it'll be interesting to see how/what Parcells does. Right now, Parcells seems to be letting TO do whatever he wants. BP apparently didn't even know that TO decided he himself wasn't going to travel with the team for their preseason game.

You have yet to post anything saying the injury is fake.

Because an MRI reveals no tear or "damage"...that means he is not hurt now right?

Ok.... :pointstosky:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-c...p&type=lgns

Speaking to reporters for the first time since the MRI, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he never doubted Owens' sincerity. He even used himself as an example, saying that earlier Thursday he had a series of sophisticated X-rays taken to find the source of pain in his mouth. The tests were inconclusive -- but it still hurts and he still may need a root canal.

http://cbs11tv.com/sports/local_story_221170458.html

There is plenty out there talking about the injury...none of it saying it is fake...even what your produced.

And still nothing showing that he is causing any dissent in the locker room.

Only thing being shown is your extreme bias because of what happened in Philly.

Bingo.

And the original point of this thread isn't to diss TO, I'm just saying with their problems they can't be considered for the division right now.

Their problems?

One guy missing some practice time is "problems".

I think they have no more problems or question than the Eagles who are coming off of a terrible year, yet you want to call them the cream of the crop in the division right now?

Well that's the other thing that figured into my decision. It seems a lot of Dallas homers (not you, but others) want to turn a blind eye to the whole TO situation, that's fine. But if your O-line can't protect Bledsoe, and it's as bad as I've been hearing, not only from Dallas fans but others around the league, then that in and of itself is a serious concern.

Then of course add to the fact that if DB can't get a certain cry-baby WR the ball, well you know the rest.

Plain and simple fact. Almost everyone wants TO to create dissent and problems on & off the field for Dallas. Especially the Eagle's and the Eagles's fans. Nothing would make them happier. If TO rips Dallas apart at the seams then the Eagles can say "See they couldn't do anything with him either", "It wasn't our fault" And it would make the division a little easier for the Eagle sto compete in. As I see it Eagles will finish 4th in the division and will not break .500 this year.

Jones beleives him so much that now he is telling him he's gonna have to practice "through the pain"? Well which is it, do they beleive he is hurt? Or that he is going to have to practice, despite him being hurt??

And who are we to beleive, an MRI or someone like TO? Okay, let's say he's not really hurt but he feels pain. Does that mean he has to make a mockery out of camp and wear a bicycle helment and jersey when lazily riding the stationary bike

Those are just opinions. And that isn't everyone.

Wow look at all the Cowboy Fans in denial, they are actually hoping TO's injury is real. I'll bet the Eagle fans are enjoying this but not as much as the 49er fans. I think the reaction to this tread would show you what a distarction he is, he has managed to distract the entire board.
