How much coin

Recommended Posts

Thought that would be intersting to find out...and being anonymous it shouldn't be that difficult.

40,000 per year for me and I live in Raleigh NC where that is below average.

I own a auto repossession company in So. Cal (Everybody in So. Cal lives WAY out of their means and they always have to have that nice car that they can't afford) Never a dull moment.

that's what i started out in working for the state in Raleigh back in '99... so you KNOW it's below average if i was getting paid it by the state....

Wife (60+) and I (80+) = $140K+

Not bad in Iowa. Not great, but not bad! It's never enough. If you make it, you're wife will spend it.

Me and my fiance make about 85,000 together, but hopefully that will start going up once bonuses start hitting. But somehow we always still feel broke.

Why is everyone including their wives ?

The topic was "How much do you make?"

If your wife makes more than you, better start learning how to change diapers while surfing FF sites :dunno: .

I could care less how much people make.

I am however interested in WHAT people do for a living.

Like the repo man down in So Cal. I use to repo cars in MS, AL, & LA.

You wanna talk about interesting? I've seen sh!t you would not believe!

I currently work as a systems engineer for a Wireless carrier in Charlotte, NC.

I love my job! Better than repoing cars every night!

Depends on how good of a year profit wise "my" company does.

That affects quarter and year end bonus. My bonus is equal to about 1/3 of my salary usually.

Last year, my taxes said I made roughly $ 60k

(Wife and I together = about $ 120k)

Everybody on the geek board is rich and has a huge schlong (like me). He wants to find out how much the losers on the mange board make.

I make about $2000 a year off fantasy football & small NFL wagers.

The money I make at work doesn't matter; It all goes to the wife & daughter anyway...

So here's to hoping I make a lot more on FF this year!

The only correct answer here: Not nearly enough.

I did pretty good this year with my part time stuff and should break $130K with a nice bonus in November. That puts me just above trailer park status here. The wife doesn't work (my decision) so the extra stuff sucks, but pays way too good to pass up. 5 years to retirement though and we are sitting fair, not great, but not bad. Sell the house and move somewhere that is affordable and work at a liquor store part time or something and just relax.

Maybe grad school isn't the place for you, first you should hit up some basic math classes. Get that part down first.

100K in Cali is a lot different than 100K in Iowa or most places in the south.

How much coin you make is meaningless. It is what you do with it,which is important.Eventually you need to put yourself in a postion where you don't work for your money, but let your money work for you.

I don't live in Iowa or the south. And 100K will do you just fine no matter what state you live in...unless you have no clue how to manage money or you don't spend/save wisely

actually i was offered an INTERNSHIP in Cal. near the beach right when i was getting out of grad school... it paid over $40K per, sounded great until i realized i couldn't even come close to affording rent in any respectable place w/in 30 minutes of where i'd be working...

He's not contending that there is no difference, he's saying that if you make 100K there isn't a state you should have trouble affording to live in...

this is true... i guess i was just looking more at the "quality" of living, as opposed to just living...

lord knows most of us we're college students at one point where we found ways to live off $20 a week and still have a good time...

man do i miss penny draft nights...
